How will you fit into the big picture?
The Senior Attorney, Global Litigation plays a critical role in protecting and advancing Hershey's business by managing a broad range of litigation matters and providing strategic legal counsel across the organization. This position partners closely with teams across Legal, Marketing, Innovation, Regulatory, Sustainability, Supply Chain, Communications, and business leaders to proactively manage legal risk, navigate complex disputes, and support business objectives. What will you do?
  • Support the development and execution of global litigation strategy aligned with business objectives and company values.
  • Manage litigation matters including consumer protection class actions, intellectual property disputes, commercial litigation, employment matters, government investigations, and insured claims.
  • Retain and oversee outside counsel, experts, and vendors.
  • Conduct investigations, witness interviews, and early case assessments.
  • Lead discovery efforts, including e-discovery, document review, witness preparation, and depositions.
  • Draft and review pleadings, briefs, legal memoranda, and related correspondence.
  • Manage litigation budgets and outside counsel spend.Provide practical and strategic legal advice on litigation risk and regulatory matters.
  • Support dispute resolution through negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Monitor emerging legal developments and recommend proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to address legal issues and business priorities.
  • Manage third-party subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and government investigations.
  • Mentor legal support staff and help deliver legal training across the organization.
  • Prepare materials for senior leadership and Board-level discussions.
Minimum Education & Requirements
Experience:
  • At least 7 years of relevant legal experience, preferably combining law firm and in-house experience with a multinational or publicly traded company.
  • Experience defending class actions and complex commercial litigation; successful trial experience is preferred.
  • Experience managing extensive electronic discovery, outside counsel, litigation budgets, and cross-functional projects.
  • Experience representing food, consumer packaged goods, or similarly regulated companies is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical, strategic legal advice in complex litigation and an evolving regulatory environment.
  • Strong legal writing, contract drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to develop creative solutions to complex legal and business challenges.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
Education:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in good standing.
