About the Role

Hyland is seeking a skilled and driven Test Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for writing code and scripts, identifying tools for functional and non-functional testing, and contributing to automated test frameworks that ensure the delivery of high-quality software and products. You'll collaborate across engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests - all while helping shape and evolve our build pipeline and quality standards.

Your Role Responsibilities - Here's What You'll Do
  • Develop and maintain complex integration, functional, and non-functional tests and automated test frameworks across teams to ensure the holistic quality of the software.
  • Lead and maintain the implementation of the delivery pipeline, including test automation, frameworks, build environments, test environments, and security.
  • Lead the verification of system functionality by executing complex automated and manual tests, analyzing results, and providing recommendations; create and manage performance metrics, defects/enhancements, test cases, and test results.
  • Operate as a trusted advisor on issues and trends; provide general consulting services leveraging expertise and best practice knowledge to identify and implement better test tools and automation methodologies.
  • Complete complex peer code reviews for test automation code, incorporating feedback into automated tests while influencing and leading team standards, planning, work estimation, and test design.
  • Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to team members; research complex escalations for production and software issues to ensure the continued stability of the application.

Role Essentials - What You Bring
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 3+ years of experience preferred.
  • Experience with all phases of the test lifecycle, including significant experience with test design, regression testing, and test automation.
  • Significant experience with build environments, delivery pipelines, and continuous integration tools.
  • Significant experience in development on Windows/Linux platforms using multiple scripting tools and programming languages.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks and source control systems, paired with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

What We'd Like to See - Preferred Skills
  • Experience with DICOM, PACS, HL7, and IHE standards in a medical imaging or healthcare IT environment.
  • Familiarity with Medical Digital Imaging Software and healthcare interoperability standards and workflows.
  • Experience with performance testing, load testing, and non-functional test methodologies at an enterprise scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach team members, with a strong leadership presence in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Proven contributions to building or evolving shared test frameworks, test strategies, or quality engineering practices across multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with a blend of manual and automated testing and deep industry knowledge
