Job description

Position Summary:
The Technical Consultant will be a ๏ฟฝclient-side๏ฟฝ resource to help execute project tasks, testing and validation, and timely completion of project milestones for a successful go-live. This position combines technical ability and HR, Benefits, and Payroll knowledge to implement clients onto their new HCM platform and/or optimize their existing platform using best practices and standardized processes.
The portfolio of work that this role will execute can span the following areas: implementation of a client onto a new platform, optimization or transformation of a client environment on an existing platform, design and execution of technical solutions to resolve client issues, and any other assistance needed to enhance the support of HCM Unlocked clients.
This role requires expert knowledge of the Paylocity platform. Experience and knowledge related to troubleshooting inbound/outbound integration files, data transformation and data mapping is extremely beneficial. *Priority given to candidates who also have experience with Paycor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve on implementation project as a ๏ฟฝclient-side๏ฟฝ resource for technical configurations, integrations, testing and validation tasks.
  • Manage day-to-day project tasks for a client's successful payroll transition
  • Configure workflows to optimize system buildout
  • Creates custom reports and showcase templated reports to deliver the most value during a client implementation or optimization project.
  • Deliver custom system training for clients to ensure a high adoption-rate of technology during a client implementation or optimization project.
  • Perform analysis of current client processes and identify opportunities within the software that will deliver the greatest value and functionality for the client.
  • Partner with client to identify and prioritize their needs.
  • Coordinate directly with platform vendor to obtain answers and design solutions for optimization tasks
  • Collaborate with leaders, project managers and other consultants to ensure extremely successful client partnerships
  • Participate in pre-sales scoping analysis to determine project needs and projected hours.
  • Identify and engage in cross-training opportunities to increase skills across many different platforms and domain areas (ie Payroll, Benefits, HR, Custom Reporting, Integrations, Data, etc).
  • Assist project managers and team members in creation of detailed input for project plan sections related to technical configurations and/or integrations for clients.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of test scripts and audits related to all technical configurations and/or integrations during all phases of projects such as SIT, UAT, Parallel and Go-live.
  • Serve as a liaison between the client, platform vendor and HCM Unlocked data resources to ensure that the client's data requirements are accurately and completely captured during the design phase and then confirmed to be complete during testing and validation phases.
  • Serve as a liaison between platform vendors and HCM Unlocked technical resources to provide oversight and input during design and testing phases of inbound/outbound integrations between vendors.
  • Participate in the review of existing client's technical architecture and landscape and make recommendations for optimizations with the intent to eliminate the possibility of any errors during the end-to-end flow of data.
  • Provide Project Manager with formal Signoff of technical configuration work at each critical validation stage gate.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager to maintain the Open Issues log and resolve all items related to technical configurations and/or integrations in a timely manner.
  • Provide Project Manager with proof of testing and validation of technical configuration and/or integration work.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and data validation tools to assist project team to research issues and confirm data accuracy in customer databases
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • 3-5 years๏ฟฝ experience in a high-volume, client-facing, implementation role with vendor or consulting organization
  • Expert knowledge on multiple modules within the Paylocity including Implementation of systems, custom reporting functionality, and payroll processing knowledge.
  • At least 3 years๏ฟฝ experience in a client-facing, implementation role
  • Prior experience owning and leading a project
  • Experienced in Time & Attendance system configuration, understanding of labor allocation requirements, integration with various time capture systems to payrolls.
  • High School Diploma required - Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in a computer-related field
  • Experience with integrations between third-party systems ๏ฟฝ such as API, EDI, or batch processing of flat files.
  • Ability to utilize QA processes that capture before and after outcomes and satisfy governance and audit requirements.
  • Ability to create specific test scripts based upon individual client needs that will ensure 100% validation of all client data and technical configurations during the course of a project.
  • Understanding of PII data and governance requirements and ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information
  • Cultivate and grow understanding of the impact of HR-related situations such as new hires, life events, terminations and open enrollments to assist Benefits with ensuring adherence to all regulatory, carrier and client guidelines
  • Ability to partner with Benefits team to complete the plan build, testing and successful launch of open enrollment and ongoing maintenance of eligibility within a client's HRIS/online enrollment platform.
  • Understand and execute the process for building, testing and deploying EDI file feeds between the client's insurance carriers and HRIS system, to include: plan rule setup, extracting employee data, troubleshooting eligibility during the testing phase and regular upkeep of files once the feeds are active (troubleshooting discrepancies)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively verbalize ideas
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects while completing deadlines in an organized manner; demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and client relationship skills and ability to remain calm in stressful situations such as customer escalations
  • Familiarity, or ability to rapidly learn, teach, and instruct on various HRIS software platforms.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of products (MS Word, Excel and Power Point) is essential..
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits:
The hourly range for this position is $ 36.06-43.27 . This range is based on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and market data, and represents our good faith estimate at the time of posting.
