Responsibilities
The Project Manager (PM) works with the Connection sales subsidiaries to successfully deliver medium to large moderately complex projects. The Project Manager utilizes independent judgment and discretion while following a predefined project management methodology to deliver all projects. The PM creates, controls and drives project execution utilizing the appropriate pre-defined project management lifecycle methodologies. The PM serves as the primary point of contact for project communication and ensures all phases of the project are followed. The Project Manager may also assist clients and the sales team in planning, scoping, scheduling, and determining project requirements during the pre-sales phase. The PM is also responsible for contributing to the development of the team by mentoring less experienced project managers. Travel may be required to kick off a project, run pilots, discuss project milestone reviews, or to attend customer meetings.
Post-Sales Project Management
Provides project management services for medium to large moderately complex service delivery projects:
โ€ข Develops relevant project artifacts to deliver contractual services utilizing judgment and discretion based on the agreed deliverables
โ€ข Utilizes and manages internal resources and third-party service providers to fulfill project requirements
โ€ข Proactively manages project scope, budget and schedule
โ€ข Proactively mitigates risks and issues
โ€ข Uses problem solving skills on escalated issues
โ€ข Acts as a primary point of contact for the project
โ€ข Mentors less experienced project managers
โ€ข May manage internal company projects
Administration
Confirms milestone completions and ensures time and expenses are entered correctly and validated following Connection PMO's best practices and established processes.
โ€ข Updates systems and PMO Manager as required
โ€ข Performs or oversees billing submissions
โ€ข Performs administrative closing of projects per prescribed project management methodology
โ€ข Fulfills weekly status and portfolio reporting requirements
Technology
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint with ability to update spreadsheets and to perform intermediate calculations in Excel
  • Experience using Microsoft Word templates to create Change Orders and project artifacts and deliverables
  • Experience creating project schedules using Microsoft Project

Required competencies:
โ€ข Experience derived from 7 plus years of progressive project management with IT professional services and third-party vendors
โ€ข Must have experience in leading projects with demonstrated strong collaborative partnership skills
working across multiple teams, clients, and managing partners/vendors
โ€ข Proactively Identify, prioritize, resolve, and escalate risks and issues as appropriate, and realign
priorities as necessary to meet project deliverables and deadlines
โ€ข Strong project management skills to manage scope, budget, and schedule
โ€ข Advanced organization and time management skills to keep all projects on track and within
budget
โ€ข Provide project status reporting and updates to management team and key stakeholders
โ€ข Demonstrated experience in project change management to manage project scope, schedule,
and budget
โ€ข Experience in project closure activities including Lessons learned and project survey
โ€ข Ability to listen, anticipate needs of the customer, and proactively manage expectations
โ€ข Proven project management experience creating project artifacts including budget, roster, risk
register, mitigation plan, schedule, and communication plan
โ€ข Ability to manage shifting priorities, make sound decision, negotiation, and attention to details
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to compose and present professional
business communications
โ€ข Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
