Job description

Everlake Services Company seeks a Senior Manager, Actuary to work in Northbrook, Illinois to drive actuarial pricing and modeling for annuity and reinsurance transactions, analyzing statistical and financial data to estimate product specific risk (e.g., mortality, policyholder behavior, economic scenarios). Develop, enhance, and validate actuarial pricing models incorporating asset and Asset Liability Management (ALM) modeling methodologies and GAAP/STAT (accounting standards) reserve frameworks to support pricing, valuation, and financial projections. Oversee preparation and governance of pricing assumptions and methodologies, ensuring consistency with Actuarial Standards of Practice (ASOP) and industry standards. Use Excel, actuarial software including Moody’s AXIS, and object-oriented programming tools (Python/VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) to automate actuarial reporting and streamline model development, valuation, and cash-flow testing processes.
Support financial reporting activities related to quarterly results for actuarial components. Provide actuarial expertise in structuring and negotiating reinsurance deals, capital transactions, and acquisitions; assess financial soundness and risk transfer. Identify key product features and risks for modeling; apply ALM insights to evaluate the financial impact of liability/asset changes under varying economic environments. Collaborate with Corporate Development, Finance, and Legal, and external auditors to support deal execution, integration, and annual audit needs. Document actuarial pricing methodologies, modeling assumptions, validation results, and governance frameworks to ensure regulatory and audit readiness. Maintain and enhance actuarial systems to support accurate financial and deallevel reporting; implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Work onsite at least 2-3 days per week. Telecommuting permitted.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or related quantitative field.

 

Minimum Experience Required:

Three (3) years of actuarial experience in insurance or reinsurance, including each of the following:

actuarial pricing and/or model development Cash-flow modeling for annuity and insurance blocks;

application of Asset Liability Management concepts or reserve methodologies (US GAAP and US

Statutory); and use of Excel and object-oriented programming for actuarial modeling or reporting

automation.

Special Requirements:

ASA or FSA designation from the Society of Actuaries (SOA) required. Demonstrated ability to apply ALM

concepts, evaluate financial impacts across economic scenarios, and work within GAAP/STAT reserve

frameworks, which will be confirmed via experience and interview assessment.

 

Salary:

Everlake Services Company provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation. The pay for Senior Manager, Actuary is $165,000 based on our internal compensation bands.
