What is a Remote Art Teacher job?

A Remote Art Teacher is an educator who teaches art classes online instead of in a traditional classroom setting. They use virtual platforms to deliver lessons, provide demonstrations, and give feedback on students' artwork. Responsibilities may include creating lesson plans, conducting live or recorded classes, and assessing student progress. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in digital teaching tools, and the ability to engage students in a virtual environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Art Teacher position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Art Teacher, you need strong art knowledge, teaching experience, and typically a degree in fine arts or education. Familiarity with digital teaching platforms, video conferencing tools, and virtual classroom management systems is essential. Creativity, clear communication, and the ability to motivate students remotely are standout soft skills. These abilities are crucial for effectively delivering engaging lessons, supporting student growth, and managing a virtual learning environment.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Art Teachers, and how can they be addressed?

One common challenge for Remote Art Teachers is engaging students and providing hands-on guidance in a virtual setting, which can make it difficult to assess students’ artwork in real time. To address this, many teachers use high-quality cameras, interactive digital tools, and detailed video demonstrations to ensure students clearly understand techniques and project requirements. Building strong communication with students and encouraging peer feedback through virtual galleries or discussion boards also helps foster collaboration and community. Additionally, teachers may need to adapt lesson plans to account for varying student access to art supplies, providing alternative options where possible. Staying flexible and proactive in addressing these challenges can lead to a rewarding and interactive remote teaching experience.

Job description

At PrizePicks, we are the fastest-growing sports company in North America, as recognized by Inc. 5000. As the leading platform for Daily Fantasy Sports, we cover a diverse range of sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, and Esports titles like League of Legends and Counter-Strike. Our team of over 550 employees thrives in an inclusive culture that values individuals from diverse backgrounds, regardless of their level of sports fandom. Ready to reimagine the DFS industry together?
This is not a role for someone who wants to run the show. It's a role for someone who wants to make the show undeniably better.
The Creative Collective is a small, high-conviction team built around one standard: commit fully or not at all. We move fast, debate hard, and once a call is made, we stand behind it together. The ECD sets the vision. Your job is to be the closest thing to that vision in execution - the creative right hand who makes it real.
You will lead a team of four designers - two Art Directors and two specialist designers - not by controlling their creative, but by raising it. One Art Director owns brand creative and the other owns social creative. They're good at what they do and that doesn't change when you walk in. Your authority comes from your output, your ideas and your ability to make the people around you sharper.
At the same time, you are an elite executor. You design, animate, edit, create merch or even build in 3D. Whatever the project demands you have enough in your bag to be dangerous. You concept at a strategic level and then drop into the tools and make it. You are the bridge between the ECD's vision and what the team ships - and you close that gap by doing the work yourself as much as by directing others.
If you've spent your career being the best creative in every room you've been in and you're ready to be that for a team - this is it.
How We Work
Lead with conviction - Be Iverson
Bring work you believe in and have a strong POV. Authenticity matters more than the idea itself. If the idea could live with another brand's logo on it, it doesn't belong here. We'd rather refine a bold idea than try to save a safe one.
↳ Not: "This is just an option" or over-explaining to compensate for weak belief
Sharpen each other - Be Pharrell
Value direct feedback and be comfortable in conflict. Debate makes the work better. Once a call is made, we move together. Mediocre work is a collective failure, not an individual one.
↳ Not: Silent agreement followed by side conversations or ego-driven critique
Execute under pressure - Be Jordan
The standard does not change when the moment does. We move with precision and continually refine our judgment. Practice or clutch time, you show up with the same intensity.
↳ Not: "We didn't have time" or by overcomplicating simple calls
Show up fully - Be Virgil
Show up wherever you are needed, whenever you are needed, without hesitation. Not for credit - for the outcome. It's not about doing everything. It's about doing what's required to make it right.
↳ Not: "That's not my job" or trying to protect your role over protecting the work
What you'll do:
Be the ECD's creative right hand
  • Partner directly with the ECD on ideation, concepting, and creative strategy - the thinking partner who helps turn vision into direction
  • Bring wild, well-reasoned ideas to the table and have the skills to execute them yourself
  • Represent the ECD's creative standards across every project and every channel
  • Help push the brand into cultural moments, campaigns, and big swings that feel undeniably PrizePicks

Lead the design team through craft, not authority
  • Directly manage two Art Directors (Brand and Social) and two specialist designers
  • Protect and reinforce what George and Brandon own - your role is to elevate their work, not redirect it
  • Coach through doing: show better work, not just describe it
  • Create an environment where the team produces the best creative of their careers
  • Provide direct, actionable feedback that makes the work better every single time

Execute at an elite level across every medium
  • Design campaign assets from brief to final - digital, social, OOH, CRM, product touchpoints
  • Animate TV spots, social content and create motion systems from scratch (Not An Option)
  • Build 3D assets - Blender proficiency strongly preferred
  • Concept and write alongside copy when the brief demands it - scripts, taglines, platforms
  • Own the two-minute drill - real-time cultural moments demand sharper judgment, not lower standards

Stay locked into culture, sports, and performance
  • Be chronically online and tapped into sports, culture, and the internet before it hits the mainstream
  • Bring elite ball knower energy - you understand the moments, the players, the narratives, and why real fans care
  • Build creative that performs - you understand paid social, know what a winning asset looks like, and never mistake beautiful for effective
  • Contribute to performance creative strategy alongside Acquisition and Product Marketing

Push what's possible
  • Bring new tools, formats and technologies into the workflow.
  • Experiment constantly.
  • Drive trends, don't follow them

Who You Are:
  • A maker first - you'd rather build it than brief it out and your output proves it
  • Fast - What agencies do in weeks you can do in days if not hours.
  • Multi-disciplinary to a rare degree - genuinely elite across design, motion, 3D and concepting
  • A player-coach - you lead by doing, not by delegating and the team gets better because they watch you work
  • Low ego about ownership - Team wins are your wins. You protect swim lanes and make them bigger
  • A strategic thinker who doesn't hide behind strategy - you can go from big idea to finished asset without losing the thread
  • Chronically online - you live where culture lives, not where it lands after the fact
  • An elite ball knower - sports isn't a vertical to you, it's a language you speak fluently
  • Performance-aware - great creative has to do something, not just look good
  • A force multiplier - your presence makes everyone around you sharper without making it about you

What you have:
Qualifications:
  • 8-12+ years of creative execution experience in a high-performance in-house or agency environment
  • Experience managing or mentoring creative talent - you've made other people better
  • Portfolio that demonstrates genuine range: campaign-level thinking, high-end visual design, motion, and 3D
  • Expert-level in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects - these are table stakes
  • Blender proficiency - strongly preferred, not optional if you want to stand out
  • Fluency in performance creative - you know what a winning paid social asset looks like and why it converts
  • Deep understanding of sports and culture - NBA, NFL, and beyond. You know the storylines before the brief is written
  • Experience in sports, gaming, or entertainment/culture - you already speak our language
  • Ability to concept, pitch, write and execute at an elite level across every stage of a project
Bonus Points
  • Experience with AI-driven creative tools and workflows
  • Video editing and social-first content production
  • Background working with talent, creators, or production teams
  • Experience building or evolving brand systems at scale
What Success Looks Like
In 90 days, you've shipped work that makes people stop scrolling. The team feel supported, not second-guessed - swim lanes are intact and their work is better. The ECD has a creative partner who thinks at the same level and executes bar for bar with him.
In six months, there's a body of work with your fingerprints on it that has genuinely moved PrizePicks forward. The team is producing more, at a higher level, because you're in the room.
In a year, you're the reason we didn't need an agency.
Where you'll live:
  • While we prefer candidates based in Atlanta, we are open to qualified applicants from anywhere in the U.S. and are willing to consider remote candidates. #LI-Remote
