Duties

• You will conduct field surveys to investigate existing equipment layout and conditions.
• You will analyze structural requirements, make calculations, size, and select architectural features which meet aesthetic and functional requirements.
• You will monitor projects and construction to assure the proper use of government funds.
• You will conduct field investigations during construction involving difficult problems such as changes due to latent conditions or changes in customer requirements
• You will prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final design concepts, drawings, sketches, and specifications, formalize design plans and construction requirements, and ensure compliance with scope of work.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position requires lifting/moving objects over 50lbs, using common construction hand tools, climbing tall ladders, crouching or crawling in limited space, and considerable walking.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• You will be required to acquire Contract Officer Representative (COR) certification within the first six months of employment and maintain certification.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• Work sites may include construction and/or industrial sites that may require the use of personal protective equipment and the observance of additional safety precautions.

Qualifications
GS-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in the architectural drafting, construction project management, furniture design and procurement, displays and visual aids and aesthetics, access control for vendors, materials procurement and vendor coordination.
GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in the architectural drafting, construction project management, furniture design and procurement, displays and visual aids and aesthetics, access control for vendors, materials procurement and vendor coordination and advise on strategic operational planning.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree

LL.M., if related
