What is a remote arborist tree manager?

A Remote Arborist Tree Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing the health, maintenance, and management of trees, often utilizing digital tools and remote technologies. They assess tree conditions, create management plans, and provide recommendations for care, all while working off-site rather than in the field. This role often involves analyzing photographic or drone imagery, coordinating with on-site teams, and using specialized software to monitor tree health and inventory. Remote Arborist Tree Managers play a crucial role in urban forestry, landscaping companies, and utility vegetation management.

How does a remote arborist tree manager typically collaborate with on-site teams to assess and maintain tree health?

As a Remote Arborist Tree Manager, you will frequently coordinate with on-site crews using digital tools such as video calls, GIS mapping software, and shared documentation platforms. Your responsibilities include reviewing site photos, analyzing data from remote sensors, and developing care plans which you communicate to field teams. Regular virtual meetings help ensure all parties are aligned on priorities and safety protocols. Effective communication and the ability to interpret remote diagnostics are key challenges, but they also enable you to manage multiple sites efficiently while supporting team success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote arborist tree manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Arborist Tree Manager, you need expertise in arboriculture, tree risk assessment, and plant health care, typically backed by a degree in forestry or arboriculture and relevant certifications like ISA Certified Arborist. Familiarity with GIS mapping tools, remote monitoring software, and tree inventory management systems is essential. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills help coordinate with field crews and manage projects efficiently from a distance. These skills and qualities ensure accurate tree management, effective remote supervision, and the promotion of healthy urban or rural forests.

Job description

What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Workflow Design Specialist within our Knowledge, Strategy, & Enablement team in our Corporate Payables line of business. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain interactive decision-tree workflows in Zingtree that translate complex internal processes into intuitive, efficient, on-screen guidance for our operations associates. You will partner closely with Operations business teams to break down dense user guides and business requirements into digestible, user-friendly decision trees that drive real-time accuracy on every client interaction. You will report directly to the Director, Knowledge, Strategy, & Enablement.

How We Work

As a Workflow Design Specialist you will be expected to work in a remote environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

  • Assigned workspace in your home office (Brentwood, TN preferred)
  • Company-issued equipment
  • Hands-on training, including an apprenticeship-style ramp on Zingtree and supporting tools (Seismic Learning lessons, starter projects with an experienced author)

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining interactive decision-tree workflows in Zingtree that translate complex internal processes into intuitive, efficient, user-friendly experiences
  • Partnering with Operations business teams and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, validate logic, and ensure workflows reflect real-world use cases
  • Applying conditional logic, branching workflows, and business rules — creating, testing, and optimizing complex decision trees within the workflow application
  • Reviewing and refining workflow content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all flows
  • Identifying and resolving edge cases and exception handling to ensure workflows function correctly end-to-end
  • Building light API connections within Zingtree to auto-populate Salesforce case fields, reducing manual data entry for end users
  • Maintaining documentation for workflows, including logic structure, updates, and version control
  • Continuously identifying opportunities to improve and streamline workflows based on user feedback and operational changes
  • Iterating on builds in response to stakeholder feedback and business updates that may occur as often as every two weeks

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in workflow design, knowledge management, business process documentation, instructional design, or a similar function
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to apply business rules consistently across all paths within a workflow
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex processes into clear, step-by-step instructions
  • Working coding knowledge (e.g., logic structures, variables, conditional statements, HTML/CSS, or similar)
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and identify process efficiencies
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Operations or business stakeholders
  • Resilient and patient with iteration — low ego on receiving feedback, willing to make multiple revisions to deliver the best possible end-user experience

Preferred:

  • Experience with Zingtree or similar workflow / decision-tree platforms
  • Working knowledge of API connections sufficient to build and troubleshoot light integrations
  • Demonstrated understanding of QA/testing methodologies and content governance principles

Benefits & Perks

  • Medical, Dental & Vision benefits available the 1st month after hire
  • Automatic enrollment into our 401k plan (subject to eligibility requirements)
  • Virtual fitness classes offered company-wide
  • Robust PTO offerings including: major holidays, vacation, sick, personal, & volunteer time
  • Employee discounts with major providers (i.e. wireless, gym, car rental, etc.)
  • Philanthropic support with both local and national organizations
  • Fun culture with company-wide contests and prizes
