Position Overview
The Sr. Trust Advisor is responsible for the oversight and administration of the firm's trust solutions where Wealthspire Trust serves as fiduciary. This role manages associated operational activities, supports new business development initiatives, and ensures effective communication of policies and procedures to Advisors. Additionally, the Senior Trust Advisor plays a key role in advancing, scaling, and fostering collaboration within this specialized business model across Wealthspire.
Key Responsibilities:
Trust and Estate Administration
  • Oversee the onboarding of trust accounts, including comprehensive review and interpretation of trust documents.
  • Manage ongoing trust administration, including monitoring contributions, distributions, and withdrawals, and ensuring accurate tax coding.
  • Ensure timely execution of required distributions, including income, annuity, unitrust, interest, and other fixed payments.
  • Coordinate tax-related activities, including facilitating tax payments and partnering with trust accountants and third-party tax preparers.
  • Monitor and collect fiduciary fees in accordance with applicable agreements.
  • Conduct relationship meetings with Wealthspire Advisors, co-trustees, and clients to support effective trust administration and client service.
  • Lead annual trust administration and regulatory reviews (Reg 9), including:
    • Overseeing the preparation and distribution of annual beneficiary statements and trust accountings
    • Coordinating annual trust reviews, including investment and portfolio discussions with Advisors and co-fiduciaries
    • Preparing and delivering Crummey notices for annual exclusion gifts
  • Ensure trust activities remain in compliance with the Investment Policy Statement (IPS).
  • Apply specialized knowledge in the administration of Special Needs Trusts, guardianships, and conservatorships.
  • Demonstrate expertise in directed trust administration; familiarity with New Hampshire trust requirements preferred.
  • Support Advisors with estate administration upon client death, including asset funding and final distribution processes.
  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives, particularly related to new trust and estate business opportunities in partnership with Wealthspire Advisors and Family Office Solutions.

Training and Internal Support
  • Educate Advisors, Client Service Associates, and Client Administration Associates on trust onboarding, administration processes, and ongoing trustee responsibilities.
  • Deliver internal training and communications to ensure consistent understanding and adherence to Wealthspire Trust policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in trust administration or a related role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients and internal partners, with experience supporting high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Recognized subject matter expertise in trust and estate solutions, with the ability to effectively promote and articulate offerings.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple, long-term priorities.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with flexibility and a willingness to support and drive change.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business systems; experience with CRM platforms preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.

The base salary range for this position is $114,800 - 155,300. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
