What We Need

Kymetais seeking an exceptional in-region Supplier Development Engineer with flat panel display foundry, flex circuit, high-volume surface mount technology and chip-on-board (COB) / chip-on-flex (COF) display technology experience to serve as technical coach and change agent while working directly with suppliers to mature processes and ensure seamless collaboration between them andKymeta'sengineering design teams.This position is 100% remote, based in primarily in Japan with the ability to travel in APAC region to efficiently execute the job responsibilities.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead technical oversight for high-risk and niche suppliers, conducting deep process and capability assessments toidentifysystemic risks, resolve complex performance issues through root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.

  • Lead strategic supplier development programs for critical and strategic suppliers.

  • AssistKymetasupply chain and engineering inidentifyingand selecting niche vendors to execute key aspects ofKymetametamaterials based terminal supply plan.

  • Partner closely withKymetaStrategic Sourcing, Supplier Quality and Engineering teams to enableoptimalsupply outcomes withKymetain region of responsibility.

  • Travel as needed to supplier sites and engage with current and potentialKymetasuppliers in region facilitating sourcing and supplyobjectiveswithKymeta. Travel toKymetain Redmond, WA on occasion asrequired.

SKILLS

  • Strong technical knowledge of all processes/procedures involved in COB/COF technologies, novel substrates.

  • Self-driven and motivated, with the ability to break down complex problems into actionable solutions.

  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Demonstrated curiosity to understand system-levelbehaviorwhilemaintainingattention to critical details.

  • Advanced written and spokenproficiencyin Japanese and Englishis required totranslate and manage technical documentation.Additionalfluency in Mandarin Chinese is preferred to support the broader APAC region.

EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of experience in flat panel display or related industry design or process engineering

  • Proventrack recordof improving supplier processes and coordinating efforts between US based design entities and remote vendors resulting in reduced time to market and stable supplier outcomes.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's orMaster'sdegree in Materials Science, ElectricalEngineeringor a related technical field (e.g., Mathematics, Physics)required.

COMPENSATION

Kymeta is committed to fair andequitablecompensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, the monthly pay range for this position is USD $6,000 to USD $8,000, depending on experience, qualifications, technicalexpertise, and geographic location.
