Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Data Analytics Intern. This temporary full-time, hourly, non-exempt position is at our Plain City, OH facility and reports to the Lead Data Analyst. 


Specific duties and responsibilities of a Data Analytics Intern include, but are not limited to,

  • Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values
  • Contribute to a business-driven data project that applies core analyst responsibilities
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, project scope, and desired outcomes
  • Explore data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities
  • Develop reports, visualizations, or models that translate data into meaningful business insights
  • Share findings and recommendations with IT and business leadership through a final presentation


A Data Analytics Intern 's work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM -4:30 PM. Work schedules and duties are subject to change to meet departmental needs.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF A DATA ANALYTICS INTERN:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business teams, including remote colleagues

  • Exposure to or interest in Databricks, SQL, Python, or BI tools such as Power BI
  • Familiarity with agricultural data or a strong interest in learning how data impacts the dairy and beef industries
  • Enthusiasm for connecting technical skills with real-world business challenges
  • Desire to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to data projects

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE OF A DATA ANALYTICS INTERN:

  • Undergraduate or graduate student in Dairy Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Strong background or interest in the dairy or beef industry is strongly preferred
