Overview

This position is hybrid in Peachtree Corners, Georgia and sits within our Product Development division, which develops, tests, and improves our software solutions in an innovative and collaborative environment.  

The Opportunity

The Software Engineer I is a full-stack engineering role, enhancing our applications using a combination of next-generation web technologies, JavaScript/Typescript, Python, C#/.NET and modern engineering practices. They are responsible for working with the client application teams, quality assurance team, and architect team to ensure the delivery of high quality, high value product features.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop massively scaling, user-facing front and backend for web applications
  • Design and implement low-latency, highly available, and performant applications
  • Build reusable code and libraries using efficient, testable coding practices
  • Logically identify and resolve issues using root cause analysis
  • Provide development support in debugging and resolving defects as assigned, in support of assigned development projects and/or testing efforts
  • Provides estimates of level of work effort and time for completion
  • Closely follows advancements in AI and system capabilities to advance our team's capabilities

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team  

  • BS degree in Computer Sciences, programming or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • 1 to 3 years professional experience developing and analyzing web applications using technologies including JavaScript, CSS, SASS or other CSS preprocessor, HTML, REST, and AJAX
  • Experience in client side MVVM JavaScript frameworks like React, Redux, and Angular
  • 1 to 3 years professional experience developing and analyzing cloud infrastructures and back-end systems using technologies including Python, C#/.NET, or Java
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming Principles, Data Structures, and Algorithms
  • Understanding of Agile processes and workflow
  • Capable of analyzing issues in existing code and providing root cause analysis as well as remedy options
  • Capable of planning and estimating assigned work items effectively
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task efficiently
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions
  • Experience with writing Unit Tests
  • Strong desire to learn new skills and approaches to software engineering and continuous delivery, including AI assisted software development.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, and working on a computer for extended periods. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
  • Team members are expected to maintain a dedicated and ergonomically appropriate remote workspace.
  • Team members who live within commuting distance of one of our office locations (Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky or Atlanta, Georgia) are expected to work in a hybrid capacity, with regular in-office presence as determined by the team or department.
