Job Description
This North Slope Design Coordinator (NSDC) position will support delivery of design services for ANS oil and gas production, processing, and transport facilities where engineering activities and approvals are provided by the operating company client company separately from design (i.e. - engineering functions are provided by internal client company engineering personnel or by separately-contracted engineering service providers).
This job is based in Anchorage Alaska at our offices; frequent travel to client facilities, including Alaska North Slope and other remote locations, may be required.
*This position qualifies for the NANA Worley Candidate Referral Program, available only to existing NANA Worley employees*
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with operating company stakeholders and client representatives to establish scope and schedule, report progress, and assure delivery.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of client contact and relationship assurance plans.
  • Coordinate with NANA Worley project management, cost control and schedule, and finance staff to establish execution plan and budget, as well as set-up, check and approve invoicing.
  • Review project statuses on a weekly basis to track budget and scope changes and coordinate appropriate actions with NANA Worley and client personnel.
  • Coordinate with designers, drafters, checkers, and other individual contributors to maintain schedule, balance workforce, and assure technical integrity and quality.
  • Self-perform design and checking tasks as appropriate to maintain schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Develop job safety analyses and complete safety training for on-site trips and activities, and monitor and assure HSE compliance of supervisees during travel and site visits.
  • Extensive high profile project coordination.
  • Other duties as required for success of the NANA Worley business unit as required.

Qualifications
  • Demonstration of broad competency in a core design discipline (civil/structural, electrical/controls/ fire-and-gas/instrumentation, mechanical/piping) in production of technical design deliverables for Alaska North Slope and Remote Arctic Oil and Gas and Mining industry facilities is required.
  • Such competencies are generally demonstrated by 15 or more years of progressively responsible design experience for Alaska North Slope and remote Arctic oil and gas and mining industry facilities, including on-site experience, as well as progressive experience supervising and checking the work of others, responsibility for significant practice areas and staff, and responsibility for maintaining quality and profitability.
  • Demonstration of broad competency and understanding across disciplines in management of design individual contributors, packages, and projects is required.
  • Demonstration of superior human relational skills, oil and gas industry practices, and profit and loss drivers for design service providers and clients is also required.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to verbally communicate effectively in person and via electronic interfaces to groups of managers, clients or employees. Strong written grammar and proofreading skills preferred
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, proportions, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and current versions of AutoCAD design software, as well as specialized software packages currently used for Alaska North Slope design work. 3D design skills are required. Experience with scanning, point clouds, and use of 3D, 4D, 5D, and 7D design and BIM preferred.
