Code Red Consultants is seeking a motivated and technically capable Project Manager to support the design, evaluation, and testing of fire alarm and mass notification systems. This role is ideal for a mid-level fire alarm professional who enjoys hands-on technical work, field involvement, and growing responsibility in project management.

You will work closely with senior staff, clients, contractors, and AHJs while taking ownership of technical deliverables and day-to-day project execution.


Key Responsibilities Include: 


Technical & Field Work:

  • Design fire alarm and emergency voice/alarm communication systems 
  • Prepare reports, specifications, and design drawings 
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections of existing systems 
  • Attend fire alarm testing and commissioning to evaluate compliance with design documents 
  • Review design and construction submittals for code compliance 
  • Support third-party plan and system reviews for municipal clients 
  • Apply relevant fire and life safety codes and standards to real-world conditions


Project Management & Coordination:

  • Support project planning, schedules, and budgets under the guidance of senior staff 
  • Coordinate with internal team members to complete technical deliverables 
  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and AHJs related to assigned projects 
  • Assist with proposal development, scope definition, and fee preparation 
  • Track project progress and communicate issues or risks proactively
  • Perform bill review, & AR follow ups

Requirements

  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 
  •  3-8 years of experience designing, testing, commissioning, inspecting, or programming fire alarm systems 
  • Strong working knowledge of fire and life safety codes 
  • Field experience interacting with contractors and AHJs 
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit is a plus 
  • PE license, or path to PE licensure, preferred; NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification also considered 
  • Excellent organizational time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Accountable, and solution-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills


Work Environment/Schedule: Professional office. Hybrid and flexible work arrangement including office, project sites, and remote work. Occasional early or off-hours testing may be required.

Estimated Salary Range: $95,000-125,000 (annually), plus eligibility for discretionary quarterly bonuses (based on individual and company performance). This range considers various factors involved in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to the successful applicant's skills, experience, education, licensure, location and internal equity.
