Salary: $75,000 - $90,000
Location: Remote
Position Summary
The SEO Specialist executes hands-on organic search, eCommerce product discoverability, marketplace content, and digital merchandising initiatives across North Coast Medical's digital properties. Reporting to the SEO Manager, the role supports search visibility, qualified traffic, product-page performance, product-content quality, and product data consistency across NCM.com, Google Merchant Center, Amazon, RxCart, distributor platforms, and other digital channels.
The position focuses on on-page SEO, product content optimization, taxonomy support, product feed quality, marketplace metadata, Amazon listing support, image optimization, technical SEO fixes, new product launch readiness, conversion-focused improvements, and recurring performance reporting. Working within approved brand, content, and regulatory standards, the Specialist uses search data, product information, competitive insights, and analytics to identify practical optimization opportunities.
The role also supports emerging search visibility and internal workflow efficiency by helping priority product and category content remain clear, factual, structured, and easy for search engines and AI answer experiences to interpret and cite.
Core Responsibilities
On-Page, Content & AI Visibility
  • Implement on-page optimizations, including title tags, meta descriptions, headings, structured data, and internal linking, across product, category, and site pages.
  • Optimize product detail page (PDP) copy to North Coast Medical's dual-audience content standard, keeping pages useful to both clinicians and individual buyers while staying within approved claims.
  • Develop keyword and content recommendations based on search intent, keyword gaps, product priorities, competitive SERP analysis, and approved product positioning.
  • Apply E-E-A-T principles and trust signals appropriate to medical and rehabilitation product content in coordination with established review standards.
  • Structure priority content to be clear, factual, and citable in emerging search experiences such as Google AI Overviews and AI answer engines, and flag where North Coast Medical or priority categories are omitted.
  • Develop and document practical AI-assisted workflows that improve content creation, optimization, reporting, and quality review efficiency.
Product Data Governance, Feeds & Digital Merchandising
  • Support product taxonomy, category structure, product attributes, filters, naming conventions, and metadata so products are easier to find, compare, and select.
  • Support day-to-day product data consistency across NCM.com, Google Merchant Center, Amazon, RxCart, distributor platforms, and related digital channels.
  • Monitor Google Merchant Center and product feed quality, including feed completeness, disapprovals, missing attributes, product identifiers, image issues, and other data-quality gaps.
  • Maintain catalog accuracy and consistency so products are represented consistently across digital channels and aligned with approved content, brand, and regulatory standards.
  • Support digital merchandising improvements that make priority products, categories, and related product groupings easier to discover and evaluate online.
Amazon & Marketplace Optimization
  • Support Amazon listing optimization in coordination with the appropriate channel owner, including product titles, bullets, backend keywords, search term optimization, and A+ content recommendations.
  • Optimize product content and metadata for marketplace discoverability across Amazon, RxCart, distributor platforms, and other relevant digital channels.
  • Identify product-content gaps that affect marketplace discoverability, distributor listings, buyer confidence, or consistency across channels.
  • Identify and flag inconsistent, outdated, unauthorized, or off-brand product content across marketplace, reseller, distributor, and partner environments for appropriate internal review and follow-up.
New Product Launch Readiness
  • Support launch readiness for new products by preparing or validating SEO metadata, product-page copy, taxonomy placement, product attributes, imagery, alt text, schema, feed data, and marketplace content.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to confirm priority products have complete, accurate, and search-ready digital content before launch.
  • Track launch-content status and surface blockers that could delay search visibility, marketplace readiness, or product-page quality.
Technical SEO & Site Health
  • Execute technical SEO tasks across crawlability, indexation, site speed, structured data, and errors surfaced in Google Search Console.
  • Apply image optimization best practices, including compression, alt text, structured data, accessibility considerations, and consistent file-naming conventions.
  • Document technical findings clearly and coordinate practical fixes with web development, marketing, revenue operations, and other internal partners.
  • Build proficiency in advanced technical SEO areas such as log-file analysis, crawl-budget management, and site migrations.
CRO, Competitive Monitoring & Off-Page Support
  • Monitor product-page performance and conversion signals to surface optimization opportunities, including SEO A/B testing, landing-page optimization, PDP improvements, and digital merchandising recommendations.
  • Support competitive monitoring of priority competitors, including Performance Health, FEI, Medline, and other relevant sites, to identify content, keyword, product, merchandising, and marketplace opportunities.
  • Support backlink profile management, including monitoring the link profile, identifying acquisition opportunities, and maintaining the disavow file, with disavow updates reviewed before submission.
  • Assist with link acquisition and digital PR efforts that build domain authority within North Coast Medical's standards.
KPIs, Analytics & Reporting
  • Maintain UTM and campaign-tracking accuracy and contribute to analytics reporting using Plausible Analytics and related tools.
  • Produce a recurring monthly SEO and eCommerce performance report and help maintain reporting dashboards, currently Tableau.
  • Track and report on KPIs such as organic traffic, qualified organic revenue or conversions, PDP conversion rate, product-page performance, product optimization throughput, product feed health, marketplace content completeness, AI visibility, and technical issue resolution.
  • Use performance data to surface practical recommendations that improve search visibility, product discoverability, conversion performance, and product-content quality.
Position Requirements & Qualifications
Required
  • 3+ years of experience in SEO, eCommerce, product content, product data, digital merchandising, or digital marketing.
  • Foundation in on-page and content SEO best practices.
  • Experience optimizing product content, metadata, and product-page content for search, marketplace discoverability, and buyer decision-making.
  • Familiarity with product taxonomy, category structure, product attributes, filters, site search, or related eCommerce discoverability concepts.
  • Familiarity with marketplace or product feed concepts, including Google Merchant Center, Amazon listings, distributor feeds, or similar product data environments.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and common website CMS platforms; WordPress preferred.
  • Strong written communication and the ability to work within established content, brand, and regulatory standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Google Merchant Center, product feeds, Amazon listing optimization, A+ content recommendations, backend keywords, or marketplace search term optimization.
  • Familiarity with search and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, Plausible Analytics, Tableau, and related reporting tools.
  • Understanding of image optimization best practices, including compression, alt text, structured data, accessibility considerations, and file-naming conventions.
  • Experience using AI tools for content generation, rewriting, summarization, research support, reporting, or optimization workflows.
  • Familiarity with healthcare, medical products, therapy products, rehabilitation products, B2B eCommerce, or regulated product-content environments.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • This position is primarily remote but may require travel to the Corporate Office when required.
  • Work involves sedentary to light work in a home office environment.
  • Frequent computer use including keyboard, mouse, headset, and video conferencing.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform typical office tasks.
  • High-speed internet connection with video conferencing capability and bandwidth for VPN access.
