Job description

Are you interested in shaping the future of entertainment. Are you passionate about research that enables new consumer experiences, business capabilities and drives efficiency. Prime Video is changing the way people watch movies and TV and we want you to join us in that mission!
Prime Video is seeking a Sr Manager, UX Research to lead a team of researchers delivering impactful, end-to-end research that illuminates new insights and opportunities to delight our customers.

We need a highly motivated, strategic leader who can lead and mentor a world-class research team while driving user-centered design and decision-making across the organization.
As a Sr Manager, UX Research you will be a key strategic partner to product and design leadership, shaping our product strategy through data-driven insights and building research capabilities that scale across major product teams. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive research strategy for your team, guiding them to perform research that creates insightful findings. You will lead your team in daily interactions with product managers, designers, engineers, applied scientists, data scientists, marketing, and research peers to understand and guide research needs across the organization, ensuring research drives meaningful impact as measured by both incremental changes to product design and development roadmaps; as well as influencing product and design visioning investments.
As an ideal candidate, you have deep experience leading research teams and a proven track record of building research capabilities within organizations

You have a nimble, creative and pragmatic approach to research strategy, and you're interested in pushing the boundaries of research while maintaining rigor. You are a mixed methods leader who can guide both qualitative and quantitative research efforts.

You easily move between big picture thinking and obsessing about the details. You can provide clear direction while empowering your team to work independently, and you're capable of managing multiple overlapping projects across your team.
Key job responsibilities
* Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring UX researchers, with a track record of developing talent and building high-performing teams
* End-to-end experience with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting) and the ability to coach others in these areas
* Strategic thinking skills to develop research roadmaps that align with business objectives and product strategy
* Experience establishing research operations, processes, best practices that scale across teams and the ability to evangelize research across the organization
* Hands-on experience with diverse research methods including: lab-based user testing, survey design, remote testing, prototype testing, and iterative testing. Experience managing both quantitative and qualitative research efforts

* Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence product decisions at all levels of the organization
* Ability to balance team workload, prioritize projects, and meet ambitious deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
* Experience partnering with data science, analytics, and marketing teams to bring together multiple data sources
* Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
* Ability to work within novel research spaces and guide teams through ambiguity
