The Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic is seeking a dedicated and qualified Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team.   • Conduct individualized therapy sessions in the client's home or through virtual platforms, adapting your approach to meet each child’s unique needs.
  • Implement therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and behavior modification strategies that address anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills development.
  • Support caregivers in enhancing their decision-making skills, providing them with tools and strategies to effectively manage challenging behaviors at home.
  • Actively collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team, attending multidisciplinary meetings to discuss progress, share insights, and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical activities, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings, contributing your expertise and providing recommendations for program improvement.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on a diverse population of children aged 3-20 who are impacted by developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Your role is pivotal in addressing their emotional and behavioral needs through targeted interventions. By working closely with families, you will help build stronger support systems and foster independence in young individuals facing these challenges.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
  • Possession of a current and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
  • Ability to provide your services with a minimum availability of 5-10 hours weekly during the after-school hours of 4-7 PM, with some weekend availability being advantageous.
  • Experience in delivering positive behavior support techniques is essential.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for home visits are required.
  • A criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is a prerequisite for employment.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience with children and teenagers, particularly those with intellectual/developmental disabilities, is highly beneficial.
