Job description

Req ID: 138026
Remote Position: Hybrid
Region: Americas
Country: Canada
State/Province: Ontario
City:  Toronto

Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HRIS Technical Lead to manage, configure, and optimize our core HR technology ecosystem. In this role, you will serve as the technical subject matter expert for our primary HR platforms, ensuring seamless system functionality, data integrity, and a frictionless user experience for employees and recruiters alike.

The ideal candidate brings strong, hands-on configuration experience with SAP SuccessFactors and SmartRecruiters and technical depth in the area of data management and integration in the HR space. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to translate HR business processes and requirements into efficient and maintainable technical solutions.

Detailed Description

System Administration & Configuration

  • Platform Management: Lead the day-to-day administration, configuration, and maintenance of SAP SuccessFactors (Core HR, Employee Central, Talent, Recruitment / Onboarding modules) and SmartRecruiters ATS.
  • Business Analysis & Logic: Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, and Finance teams to gather requirements and translate complex business needs into system configurations (e.g., custom workflows, custom fields, business rules, and permissions)
  • Release Management: Evaluate bi-annual SuccessFactors updates and routine SmartRecruiters releases. Perform impact analysis, conduct regression testing, and implement new features that drive process improvement. Proactively identify and assess how advanced capabilities and innovation in the space can benefit Celestica and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.

Integrations & Data Integrity

  • System Connections: Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain existing integrations between SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters, and integrated systems (such as payroll).
  • Concur Administration: Support or assist with the basic administration and alignment of SAP Concur expense/travel management relative to HR master data. Although experience with Concur is not a strict requirement, it would be considered a significant asset.
  • Data Governance: Conduct routine data audits to ensure data integrity, compliance (GDPR/SOC2/local labor laws), and optimal system performance across all platforms in scope.

 Reporting & User Support

  • Analytics: Build, maintain, and schedule complex HR reports, dashboards, and analytics for leadership using built-in reporting tools such as WFA. Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI would be an asset
  • Tier 2/3 Support: Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues, system bugs, or configuration errors that cannot be resolved by the HR operations team. Interface with platform vendor (eg SAP for SuccessFactors) for further escalation and resolution.
  • Enablement: Create technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and job aids for HR users and system administrators.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a knack for diagnosing system errors and identifying root causes rather than just fixing symptoms.
  • Data Literacy: Proficient with data manipulation techniques and tools (e.g VLOOKUPs, Azure Data Factory, etc)
  • Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between technical language and HR business operations, explaining complex system logic in plain terms.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • SAP SuccessFactors Associate Certifications.
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with the administration of SAP Concur.
  • Experience mapping API or working with integration middleware.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
Typical Experience
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • HRIS Expertise: Minimum of 8+ years of dedicated HRIS administration experience.
  • SuccessFactors Deep Dive: Proven, hands-on configuration experience within SAP SuccessFactors
  • Recruitment Tech: Strong backend configuration knowledge of SmartRecruiters (managing career sites, hiring processes, interview templates, access control, etc).
Typical Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
