About the Role
As a Raceway Engineer at Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, this role serves as a technical leader and advocate for steel and PVC raceway products across commercial and industrial construction markets. This position drives product specification, supports code-compliant designs, and positions Zekelman solutions as the preferred choice across key projects.
This role requires strong engineering expertise, technical communication skills, and relationship-building abilities, offering the opportunity to directly impact project success, customer satisfaction, and business growth.
Collaboration occurs closely with design engineers, contractors, project owners, and internal teams to influence specifications, support installations, and deliver technical excellence. This is a remote role with national travel required for project support and customer engagement.

What You'll Do
• Serves as a technical advocate for steel and PVC raceway products, including conduit, fittings, strut, and accessories.
• Engages consulting engineers and design teams to support product specification and align solutions with project requirements.
• Collaborates with electrical and general contractors to provide technical support during estimating, coordination, and installation phases.
• Supports data center and mission-critical facility owners by aligning product solutions with reliability standards and design requirements.
• Develops technical documentation including submittals, cut sheets, CAD details, and installation guides to support project execution.
• Delivers technical presentations, training sessions, and lunch-and-learns to design and construction partners.
• Partners with internal sales, product management, and engineering teams to share field insights and influence product improvements.
• Supports value engineering efforts by demonstrating cost, performance, and safety advantages of Zekelman products.
• Maintains expertise in electrical codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, UL, CSA, ANSI, and NEMA.
• Represents the organization at industry events, trade shows, and technical forums to expand market presence and build relationships.
• Tracks project specifications and wins to support strategic planning and business development initiatives.
• Collaborates with other Zekelman divisions to deliver integrated solutions for complex projects.
• Promotes and ensures compliance with health and safety practices in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
Who You Are
• 10+ years of experience in electrical construction, raceway systems, or technical sales/engineering support roles
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of electrical raceway systems including steel conduit (EMT, rigid, IMC), PVC conduit, and related accessories
• Solid understanding of commercial and industrial construction workflows, including design, estimating, bidding, and installation
• Experience working with consulting engineers, contractors, and project owners
• Strong technical communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly
• Experience delivering training sessions, presentations, and technical discussions
• Familiarity with CAD, BIM, or specification software preferred
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and coordinated models
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset
• Willingness to travel frequently on a national basis
• Ability to maintain regular, full-time, predictable attendance when not traveling

Compensation & Benefits
Below is the expected base salary range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.
Base Salary Range: $120,000-$160,000 USD
Additional compensation may include:
• Performance-based yearly merit increases
• Profit-sharing bonus opportunities
