Job description

Provn is hiring a Senior Design Engineer to support a travel technology company building a highly empowered design team where the people doing the work move fluently from research to prototyping in code to shipping in production, with AI tools as a core part of the craft.

Comp: Discussed at interview stage. Remote, US-based.

This seat is for a design engineer in the truest sense: someone who's been called a product designer, a front-end developer, or a hybrid, and has real range across all of those dimensions. You'd join a team that's rebuilding what world-class design looks like when designers don't hand off to engineers but instead build the real thing themselves, iterate fast, and let shipped work teach them what's next.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working across the full design craft: user research, behavioral analytics, ideation, prototyping in code, validation, and shipping to production
  • Bringing high design craft and attention to detail, always in service of shipping fast
  • Leveraging and evolving the existing design system across white-labeled product variants so the work scales intelligently across multiple audiences
  • Treating AI mastery as an essential, evolving part of your craft: working fluently with Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini, Figma's AI tools, and code-gen tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable, Bolt, and MagicPatterns
  • Experimenting with new tools publicly, sharing what you learn, and evolving your approach as AI capabilities advance
  • Making design decisions backed by analytics and research, knowing when to trust data and when to trust experience
  • Staying embedded in user problems, travel insights, and business outcomes without handing work off to specialists
  • Designing, prototyping in code, testing with users, and iterating at velocity rather than moving through gatekeeping processes
  • Driving design decisions autonomously within your product pod alongside engineers and PMs, while staying tightly synced with the broader design team

What we're looking for:

  • 5-8 years of product design experience across Web and Native applications
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with AI design and coding agents in professional workflows
  • Deep proficiency with Figma for interaction and visual design and systems thinking
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools including Cursor, Figma AI, Lovable, Bolt, MagicPatterns, or similar
  • Strong understanding of user research methods and experience with behavioral analytics
  • Proven ability to build, evolve, and maintain design systems and component libraries at scale
  • Builder's mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, shipping rapidly, and evolving your approach based on what actually works in the real world
  • Bachelor's in Design, HCI, or equivalent professional experience

Must be authorized to work in the US. No visa sponsorship.
