Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AI Product Owner to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of AI-driven products and solutions within a large healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Product Ownership, Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and healthcare technology. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, clinical teams, data scientists, AI/ML engineers, architects, and engineering teams to translate healthcare business needs into scalable AI product solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the AI product vision, roadmap, and strategy aligned with healthcare business objectives.
  • Partner with business, clinical, technology, and data teams to identify high-value AI and Generative AI use cases.
  • Translate business requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, features, and acceptance criteria.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, technical feasibility, risk, and customer impact.
  • Lead AI product initiatives involving Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning, NLP, and intelligent automation.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and architects throughout the AI product development lifecycle.
  • Support the development of AI agents, conversational AI, copilots, and workflow automation solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve member experience, patient engagement, clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and employee productivity using AI.
  • Define product KPIs and measure AI solution performance, adoption, accuracy, business value, and user experience.
  • Facilitate product discovery sessions, stakeholder workshops, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and product demonstrations.
  • Ensure AI solutions follow healthcare data privacy, security, and compliance requirements, including HIPAA and enterprise AI governance standards.
  • Partner with Responsible AI, Legal, Compliance, Security, and Data Governance teams to manage AI-related risks.
  • Support AI model evaluation, human-in-the-loop processes, feedback mechanisms, and continuous product improvement.
  • Drive Proof of Concept (POC), Minimum Viable Product (MVP), pilot, and enterprise-scale AI product implementations.
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies and communicate product status, risks, priorities, and roadmaps to leadership.
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to integrate new AI capabilities into healthcare products and platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or Digital Product Development.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting AI, Machine Learning, Data, Automation, or Generative AI products.
  • Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, NLP, Machine Learning, and AI product development concepts.
  • Experience defining product roadmaps, managing product backlogs, and writing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience collaborating with Data Science, AI/ML Engineering, Data Engineering, and Cloud teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex AI and technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar product management platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the healthcare, health insurance, provider, or managed care industry.
  • Understanding of healthcare business processes, clinical workflows, member services, or healthcare operations.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare data privacy, AI governance, and Responsible AI principles.
  • Experience with LLMs, RAG, AI Agents, Prompt Engineering, Vector Databases, or Conversational AI.
  • Exposure to cloud AI platforms such as Azure AI, AWS AI/ML, or Google Cloud AI.
  • Experience launching enterprise AI products from POC through production implementation.
  • Product Owner or Agile certifications such as CSPO, SAFe POPM, or PSPO are preferred.
