This role will help advance Huber AgroSolutions products from early technical validation through pre-commercial field development by designing, coordinating, monitoring, and interpreting greenhouse and field trials. The position may be based in Hanover, Pennsylvania, or remote, with regular travel to trial locations, research collaborators, customer sites, and partner facilities.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Innovation & NPD Support

  • Lead field biology workstreams for NPD and other innovation projects focused on Huber AgroSolutions products.
  • Design and implement trial programs to evaluate efficacy, crop safety, compatibility, application timing, use rates, and product positioning.
  • Contribute to stage-gate project reviews by translating field results into clear technical recommendations.
  • Collaborate with formulation, regulatory, product management, and commercial teams to address technical questions that may affect product advancement.

Field Trial Management

  • Develop trial protocols, success criteria, rating methods, and data collection templates for greenhouse, small-plot, and pre-commercial field studies.
  • Identify, select, and manage contract research organizations, universities, consultants, growers, and other external research partners.
  • Visit trial sites to confirm protocol compliance, assess treatment performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity.
  • Coordinate trial placement across relevant crops, geographies, climates, and production systems in North America and, as needed, Latin America.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze and interpret biological efficacy, crop response, yield, quality, and phytotoxicity data using appropriate statistical methods.
  • Prepare concise technical reports, trial summaries, presentations, and recommendations for internal decision-making.
  • Develop claims support summaries, technical dossiers, and data packages to support regulatory, marketing, and commercial needs.
  • Maintain organized records of protocols, raw data, trial observations, photos, reports, and conclusions.

Technical Leadership & Market Insight

  • Serve as a subject matter resource on crop production, pest and disease pressure, plant physiology, biological performance, and field development best practices.
  • Monitor competitive products, emerging technologies, scientific literature, and market trends relevant to the innovation pipeline.
  • Provide technical input for product concepts, positioning, launch readiness, stewardship, and market development plans.
  • Present research findings to internal teams, external collaborators, customers, and industry audiences when appropriate.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Weed Science, Plant Physiology, Crop Science, Horticulture, Biological Sciences, or a related agricultural discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in agricultural research, field biology, product development, applied crop science, or related technical roles.
  • Proven experience designing, executing, and interpreting field trials for crop inputs or agricultural technologies.
  • Experience working with CROs, universities, consultants, growers, or external research partners.
  • Strong knowledge of experimental design, trial quality management, biological efficacy assessment, and data interpretation.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with biologicals, biostimulants, plant growth regulators, adjuvants, crop nutrition products, crop protection products, or specialty fertilizers.
  • Experience supporting product launches, technical claims, regulatory data packages, or commercial field development.
  • Knowledge of specialty crops, row crops, turf, ornamentals, controlled environment agriculture, or other relevant production systems.
  • Familiarity with U.S. EPA, state, or international registration data requirements is a plus.
  • Spanish or Portuguese language capability is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40-60% to field trials, research sites, customer locations, and partner facilities across the Americas.
  • Ability to walk agricultural fields and research plots under varying weather and field conditions.
