This role operates within a telehealth setting, offering a flexible and supportive remote work atmosphere that enables counselors to provide care from the comfort of their homes. The typical work schedule runs Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed based on patient requirements. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you will utilize telehealth technologies to connect with patients and their families, ensuring continuity of care and effective treatment delivery.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments of elderly patients, focusing on their unique clinical and psychosocial challenges.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans that consider physical health issues, cognitive changes, and social dynamics.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including individual and family therapy, to effectively address geriatric psychiatric conditions.
• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and healthcare providers to deliver integrated care tailored to the complex needs of older adults.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment paths, and available community resources to support their journey.
• Maintain precise and confidential records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Actively engage in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development activities.
• Stay current with developments in geriatric psychiatry, including research, emerging treatments, and effective therapies.

Your primary focus will be the geriatric population, working closely with elderly individuals who are coping with various mental health issues. This demographic often presents unique challenges related to aging, including diminished cognitive function, loss of independence, and complex family dynamics. Your empathetic approach will be crucial in building rapport and trust with both the patients and their families during therapy sessions.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• State-issued and valid licenses such as LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Psychologist.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based practices.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate documentation of patient information.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary care team.

• Experience providing individual and family therapy specifically to older adults, understanding the nuances of their experiences and emotions.
• A background in crisis intervention and the ability to manage acute psychiatric situations with skill and confidence.
• Familiarity with community resources that cater to the elderly population to facilitate continuity of care.

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
