Work Environment

This position offers a remote work setting, allowing you to provide therapeutic services from the comfort of your own home while also serving patients from our outpatient office. Your role will involve creating a therapeutic rapport with clients and maintaining high standards of documentation and care, as well as participating in regular supervision and training sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualized therapeutic interventions using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
  • Conduct assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans to address client needs, goals, and preferences.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions, focusing on fostering an open and supportive environment for discussion.
  • Complete all required documentation in accordance with agency guidelines, ensuring timely updates on treatment plans, outcome assessments, and other pertinent patient information.
  • Participate in weekly supervision with the clinical director or lead therapist, as well as ongoing training to enhance skills and clinical knowledge.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Therapist at Advocate Aurora, you will primarily work with children and adolescents, along with their families, to address a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, and trauma. There are opportunities for cross-training to work with adult clients, expanding your expertise across different age groups and presenting issues. You will engage with diverse populations, tailoring your approach to meet the varied cultural, social, and emotional needs of each client.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctorate degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling) is required.
  • Hold an active and unrestricted license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Arizona.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical counseling experience, ideally within an outpatient setting, is required.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in specialized areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, substance misuse or trauma is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while adhering to ethical and legal standards in mental health care.
