Make a real difference in patients’ lives—join Elevate Patient Financial Solutions as a Remote Based Patient Advocate and help guide individuals through their healthcare financial journey. This full-time position is 100% remote based, with a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00am -4:30pm PST
Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 to 4:30 PM PST.
Monday-Friday schedule from 9:00 to 5:30 PM MST.
Monday-Friday schedule from 10:00 to 6:30 PM CST.
Monday-Friday schedule from 11:00 to 7:30 PM EST.

As a Remote Based Patient Advocate, you play a vital role in guiding uninsured hospital patients through the complex landscape of medical and disability assistance. This remote-based role places you at the heart of patient financial advocacy—speaking with individuals over the phone to guide them through the process of identifying eligibility and applying for financial assistance. Your involvement and empathy make a real difference during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Screen uninsured hospital patients in an effort to determine if patient is a viable candidate for federal, state, and/or county medical or disability assistance.
  • Complete the appropriate applications and following through until approved.
  • Detailed, accurate and timely documentation in both Elevate PFS and hospital systems on all cases worked.
  • Provide exceptional customer service skills at all times.
  • Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, financial counselors through Teams Meetings, telephone conversations, and written communications.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, make out-bound calls, and track all paperwork necessary to submit enrollment and renewal for prospective Medicaid patients.
  • Maintain structured and timely contact with the applicant and responsible government agency, by phone whenever possible or as structured via the daily work queue.
  • Assist the applicant with gathering any additional reports or records, meeting appointment dates and times and arrange transportation if warranted.
  • Conduct in-person community visits as needed to acquire documentation.
  • As per established protocols, inform the client in a timely manner of all approvals and denials of coverage.
  • Attend ongoing required training to remain informed about current rules and regulations related to governmental programs, and apply updated knowledge when working with patients and cases.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities.
  • Some college coursework preferred
  • Prior hospital experience preferred
  • Adaptability when dealing with constantly changing processes, computer systems and government programs
  • Professional experience working with state and federal programs
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Proficient experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and Outlook
  • Effectively communicate both orally and written, to a variety of individuals
  • Ability to multitask and ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Employees working in a remote-based environment are required to have a designated workspace that meets the requirements outlined in our Remote Work policy. This includes the ability to interact with patients, Client contacts, case managers, and financial counselors confidentially while meeting HIPAA and PHI requirements.
  • Remote and Hybrid positions require home internet connections that meet the company’s upload and download speed criteria.
