This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys both relationship-building and detail-oriented work and is motivated by WRJ's mission.
What You Will Do
Support Fundraising Campaigns and Donor Engagement
  • Support the planning and execution of WRJ's annual fundraising campaigns and initiatives, including the YES Fund.

  • Coordinate campaign timelines, materials, communications, and other fundraising activities.

  • Support relationships with current and prospective donors through personalized outreach, stewardship, acknowledgments, and recognition.

  • Track campaign progress and donor engagement to help identify opportunities to strengthen participation and giving.

  • Partner with staff and lay leaders to support donor outreach, fundraising priorities, and special initiatives.

Manage Donor Data and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect records, including gifts, pledges, and engagement activity, in WRJ's donor database.

  • Generate reports and analyze fundraising data to monitor progress, identify trends, and inform development efforts.

  • Provide staff and lay leaders with donor information and reporting to support fundraising and stewardship.

Support Development Operations
  • Prepare and coordinate timelines, materials, communications, and other fundraising activities.

  • Coordinate gift and pledge tracking, financial reconciliation, and documentation for audit preparation.

  • Maintain development systems, calendars, records, and workflows, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and the donor experience.

  • Collaborate on projects that advance WRJ's fundraising and organizational priorities.

  • Participate in WRJ and Reform Movement events and convenings, including occasional travel as needed.

Who You Are
You are a thoughtful, organized, and relationship-oriented professional who enjoys connecting with people while keeping the details moving behind the scenes. You bring curiosity, strong follow-through, and a collaborative approach to your work, and you are excited to contribute to fundraising that advances a meaningful mission.
Keys to Success (the must-haves)
  • Relationship Building: You communicate thoughtfully, build trust, and follow through with donors, volunteers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

  • Organization and Attention to Detail: You can manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and keeping work moving forward.

  • Communication: You write and communicate clearly and can adapt messages for different audiences.

  • Data and Systems: You are comfortable working with databases, spreadsheets, and other systems and using information to support decision-making.

  • Collaboration and Adaptability: You work well with others, respond constructively to changing needs, and are comfortable working in a remote environment.

  • Mission Alignment: You are energized by WRJ's commitment to strengthening Jewish life, advancing gender equity, philanthropy, and social justice.

Experience
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, nonprofit operations, communications, data management, or a related area.

  • Experience with a CRM or donor database is preferred.

  • Experience in a nonprofit, membership, volunteer-led, or Jewish communal organization is helpful but not required.

  • Familiarity with Reform Judaism and the broader Jewish community is a plus.
