ERS Mechanical Commissioning Engineer - Remote Electrical Reliability Services (ERS) is looking for talented Mechanical Building Commissioning Engineers to join our Commissioning Group nationally. ERS is a subsidiary of Vertiv (formerly Emerson Network Power). This is a large-scale effort to provide comprehensive services to our current customers and to expand our commissioning services nationally and internationally. We have several exciting opportunities for all levels of experience for both Mechanical and Electrical Building Commissioning Engineers.

Mechanical Commissioning Engineer Perform and manage commissioning procedures for mechanical systems, including moderately complex systems in data centers and other mission critical facilities. Manage and lead commissioning projects, with potential for other engineers to assist. Be self-motivated and proactive on projects with limited supervision.

The position is mentally demanding and requires self-awareness. Responsibilities Perform all aspects of commissioning of mechanical systems including chilled water systems, air distribution systems, AC systems, and building controls systems. Perform commissioning design reviews.

Perform commissioning submittal reviews. Develop commissioning forms, specifications, and plans. Understand contract documents (drawings and specifications) and Sequence of Operation.

Develop pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems commissioning scripts; execute commissioning scripts. Track and report commissioning issues throughout the project; assemble final commissioning reports. Operate safely in a construction environment and contribute to project communications with clients.

Lead on small or moderately sized commissioning projects and maintain client relationships. Provide project management support as needed. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Graduate Engineer (BSEE or BSME) or equivalent commissioning-related training with minimum experience as outlined below.

Alternate pathways include completion of applicable commissioning technical training with two years minimum related experience; or high school education with five years minimum related experience. Experience across Design, Construction, and Acceptance phases on at least several commissioning projects. Note: Additional education/experience requirements may apply per specific role level.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of ASHRAE commissioning standards; commissioning certification preferred. Knowledge of LEED process and LEED Accredited Professional is preferred. Strong understanding of building mechanical systems, chilled water, air distribution, AC systems, building controls, glycol systems, and boilers.

Experience in operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment; ability to plan and manage mid to large projects. Strong client relationship skills and ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to research standards and operate test equipment.

Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work; travel up to several weeks, including international travel. Physical and Travel Requirements Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; some tasks may require up to 100-pound test sets. Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.

Travel time required: approximately 50%. Education and/or Experience Qualifications include a graduate engineering degree (BSEE or BSME) or an equivalent combination of education and experience as outlined in the Minimum Qualifications above. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and related standards (OSHA, NFPA) and successful completion of relevant electrical testing exams are valued.
