What is a remote admin?

Remote Admins, or Remote Administrators, are professionals who provide administrative support to organizations or individuals from a remote location. Their tasks often include managing emails, scheduling meetings, handling data entry, organizing files, and assisting with customer service or project management. Remote Admins use digital tools to communicate and collaborate with teams, making it possible to perform their duties effectively without being physically present in the office. This role is ideal for those who are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with technology. The flexibility of remote work allows businesses to access a wider talent pool and enables employees to work from anywhere.

What does a remote admin do?

As a remote admin, you address IT, computer, and software issues, as well as assist end users with technical difficulties, setting up new accounts, or integrating new pieces of software. Your duties include monitoring system operations and efficiency, working with IT admins and developers to improve security systems, and contributing to risk mitigation strategies. You also provide system support, remote network setup, and diagnostic help. You may work from home or another location outside of a traditional office setting and use email, phone, text, or video chat to perform your responsibilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote admin, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Admin, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in administrative procedures, often supported by experience or a relevant degree. Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools, cloud storage platforms, and office software like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace is essential. Excellent communication, time management, and self-motivation help remote admins excel in independent and team-based tasks. These skills ensure efficient remote operations, reliable support to teams, and seamless workflow across digital environments.

How do remote admins typically stay connected and collaborate effectively with their teams?

Remote Admins often use a variety of digital tools to maintain efficient communication and collaboration with their teams, such as video conferencing platforms, instant messaging, and project management software. Regular virtual meetings and clear documentation help ensure everyone stays aligned on tasks and priorities. Building strong relationships remotely can be a challenge, but proactive communication and responsiveness make a big difference. Additionally, many organizations provide onboarding and ongoing support to help remote admins integrate seamlessly into their team structures.

See yourself at Twilio

Join the team as Twilio's next Senior, Impartner Administrator, Partner Relationship Management

About the job

This position is needed to maintain, optimize, and scale extraordinary partner portal infrastructure for our rapidly growing Global Partnerships teams. The Partner Support team is essential for the success and scalability of our partner and indirect sales channels. We are the system heart of the organization, driving the platform configurations, integrations, and data hygiene that unlock new possibilities across Channel Sales, Alliances, and Partner Marketing.

This Senior Impartner Platform Administrator will serve as the technical owner of our partner ecosystem tech stack. With a strong focus on advanced Impartner PRM configuration and robust Salesforce CRM integration, you will execute our technical roadmap to deliver frictionless user experiences for our global partners. This role is a perfect match for a technical platform administrator who thrives on deep system architecture, automated workflows, and high-impact "Keep the Lights On" (KTLO) system maintenance.

The ideal candidate has a passion for building robust integrations, possesses an eye for system data integrity, and is constantly seeking ways to simplify complex admin configurations behind the scenes.

Responsibilities

In this role, you'll:

  • Own Platform Administration: Manage day-to-day technical operations of the Impartner PRM platform, including access controls, page layouts, content management, and localized portal branding.
  • Maintain the CRM Sync: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot the critical data sync between Impartner and Salesforce.com, ensuring leads, accounts, and custom deal registration data flow accurately across both systems.
  • Build Automated Workflows: Develop code-free automated partner lifecycles utilizing Impartner's Journey Builder, setting up milestone alerts, automated tier progressions, and customized onboarding tracks.
  • Support Channel Enablement: Architect and maintain partner competency programs, training modules, and certification pathways within the portal to keep our global partners enabled.
  • Manage Lead & Deal Flow: Oversee the mechanics of lead distribution algorithms, deal registration routing, and Market Development Funds (MDF) application/claim workflows.
  • Enforce Platform Governance: Audit system logs, data health, and security rules. Ensure compliance with corporate data protection standards and platform updates across both Impartner and Salesforce environments.
  • Drive UAT and Testing: Conduct technical vetting, build out testing protocols in sandbox environments, and execute error-free production deployments for new tool integrations or module releases.
Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. We value technical expertise gained from a variety of backgrounds and encourage anyone who meets the required core certifications and experience targets to apply.

Required:
  • 5+ Years of Dedicated PRM Admin Experience: At least 5 years of direct experience administering an enterprise Partner Relationship Management tool, with a deep mastery of the Impartner PRM platform. Certification:  Impartner Certified Administrator
  • Compulsory Salesforce Certification: Must hold a current Salesforce Certified Administrator credential (Advanced Administrator or Platform App Builder is highly desired).
  • Impartner Platform Credentials: Active participation in/completion of Impartner's technical training and product administrator alignment programs (such as Impartner Certified Administrator pathways).
  • Technical Integration Skills: A proven track record managing complex API syncs, mapping custom fields between PRMs and Salesforce, and resolving sync log exceptions.
  • Problem Solving & Analytics: Strong experience building advanced operational dashboards, custom reports, and auditing data integrity across integrated systems.
  • Stakeholder Execution: Demonstrated success managing project timelines, organizing technical backlogs, and translating GTM business logic into solid system configurations.
Desired:
  • Advanced Toolkit: Experience utilizing backlog and documentation tools like Jira and Confluence to manage configuration requests.
  • Developer Familiarity: Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for portal layout styling or specialized workflow scripts is a plus.
  • Other Systems: experience with Cloud Coach and Professional Services workflow is a plus
  • Global Support Experience: Experience managing multi-currency, localized, or multi-lingual partner portals for a global channel ecosystem.
