Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our dynamic team at Teens Advocate Program & Mental Counseling. This full-time, remote position allows you to make a meaningful impact in the lives of adolescents and their families by providing competent and empathetic mental health support.

About the Organization

Teens Advocate Program & Mental Counseling is a non-profit organization based in Vancouver, Washington, committed to enhancing the emotional well-being of teenagers and their families. Our mission is to provide accessible mental health care to individuals who may have limited resources or support. As a leader in youth advocacy, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality services tailored to each client's unique needs.

Work Environment

Our remote work setting promotes flexibility and work-life balance, allowing counselors to work from home while maintaining a strong connection with colleagues and clients. Our outpatient office provides a collaborative atmosphere that is vital for our multidisciplinary teams to discuss cases, share insights, and support one another in our work. Regular team meetings and professional development opportunities keep our counselors engaged and informed about the latest best practices in mental health care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to formulate personalized therapeutic plans for clients.
  • Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy.
  • Maintain precise and current clinical documentation in accordance with state regulations and ethical guidelines.
  • Engage in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for all clients.
  • Actively participate in continuous education and skill development workshops to remain abreast of advancements in mental health research and interventions.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on adolescents facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and familial conflicts. By fostering a safe and nurturing environment, your therapeutic approach will help empower our clients to develop coping skills and resilience in their daily lives. Our commitment to serving clients from diverse backgrounds ensures that you will work with individuals from various cultures and socio-economic statuses.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • Possession of active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Washington.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical counseling experience is essential.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, substance misuse, or trauma-informed care is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to comply with legal and ethical standards concerning client care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively build rapport with a diverse population of clients.
  • Experience collaborating within a healthcare team setting is crucial for this role.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) software and related technologies.
Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience and client caseload. Team members have access to dental, vision, and health insurance, as well as malpractice insurance. Support for billing and documentation processes allows you to focus more on client care and less on administrative tasks.
