Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a structured full-time schedule. As a part of our virtual team, you will work primarily with school-aged children, offering counseling and support services that address their emotional and social development. Key Responsibilities

Your daily responsibilities will center around the psychosocial well-being of students, which include:

• Conducting thorough assessments of students' emotional and social needs through interviews, observation, and standardized evaluation methods.
• Collaborating with students, parents, and educational staff to develop and implement tailored intervention plans.
• Providing individual and group counseling sessions to address issues such as anxiety, depression, bullying, and family stressors.
• Acting as a mediator in cases of conflict between students and promoting conflict resolution strategies.
• Monitoring progress and adjusting intervention plans based on feedback and observed changes in students' behaviors and emotional health.
• Connecting families with community resources and support services, including educational programs, mental health services, and food assistance.
• Maintaining comprehensive and accurate records of student assessments, counseling progress, and communications in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure cohesive support among all stakeholders involved in a student’s care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents within the school system facing various socio-emotional challenges. You will provide services to a diverse demographic, including underserved populations in Jersey City, NJ. Your work will be pivotal in guiding young individuals and their families toward healthier coping mechanisms and improved life skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
• Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a social work role, particularly in school settings or with children and adolescents.
• In-depth knowledge of child development, educational systems, and mental health issues affecting youth.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and educational staff.
• Expertise in using telehealth platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Able to work independently while being part of a supportive remote team environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with crisis intervention and trauma-informed care is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with community resources available for youth and families within Jersey City.
• Training or certification in specific therapeutic modalities such as CBT or play therapy would be a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

You will receive a competitive annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits for this role include:
