What is a remote accountant?

A remote accountant is a financial professional who performs accounting tasks such as bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, handling payroll, and managing taxes while working from a location outside of a traditional office. Remote accountants offer flexibility and can serve clients from anywhere, making them a popular choice for businesses seeking expert financial services without the need for on-site staff.

What does a remote accountant do?

As a remote accountant, you work via the internet as part of an accounting firm or in a freelance capacity, providing services like accounts receivable or accounts payable management to businesses. Your duties include reviewing finance and tax forms, reviewing invoices, and performing data entry and tax services. Some work from home accountants are also studying for CPA exams while they work as a remote accountant.
