Job description

Job Description: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing a supportive role to a variety of bookkeeping clients. This person will record daily and monthly transactional activity while adhering to GAAP accounting policies that includes record preparation, research, and reporting related to, but not limited to, general ledger activities, month-end closing activities, reconciliation of accounts as directed, and financial-related reports. Assignment of special projects as needed.
Some Primary Responsibilities could be:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations for all types of accounts, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets and intangibles, to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger reliability.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • AP/AR duties
  • Run payroll
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • On-site visits when needed
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of monthly and quarterly taxes including payroll taxes at times.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including consolidations.
  • Assist with the annual external audit.
  • Work with various clients answering questions and assisting with needs as they come up
  • Work in a team environment
    Position Requirements
  • 3-5 years of general ledger accounting experience is preferred.
  • QuickBooks Online savvy a plus
  • Excel skills
  • Confident working independently and using initiative to guide through challenges.
  • Team Player able to assist members of the team
  • Ability to communicate with clients and team members
