Job Description:

L3Harris seeks a Specialist, Accountant to work for the Shared Business Services (SBS) group.  To manage projects or processes with general supervision.  Will communicate with contacts inside and outside of the department. Responsible for maintaining accounts and records in various general and/or cost accounting functions. Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. Compiles data, allocates costs, prepares reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, assembly or other operating expenses, and analyzes financial information. Prepares income and balance sheet, profit and loss, consolidated and other accounting statements. Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures. May design, modify, install and/or maintain general accounting systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to include preparing correcting journal entries as well as necessary reclasses. 
  • Accounts Payable/Purchasing Subledger open/close and review month end reports.
  • Support daily interfaces into Oracle, as well as reconciliations.
  • Backup all areas of the group, prepayments, enterprise RNI, SBS Metrics, cash applications and prepare and post project accounting expenditure batches PAEB.
  • Support the Missile Solutions enterprise wide Ariba Non-PO payment requests as needed.
  • Support other SBS initiatives and other financial areas as defined and support audit requests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant accounting experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related accounting experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related accounting experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Demonstrated skills, including the ability to plan, organize and coordinate assigned activities. 
  • Knowledge and experience in GAAP, FAR, and SOX.
  • Experience in Government contracting preferred.
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to serve multiple customers.
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter, providing updated and relevant information proactively.
  • Well-developed verbal and written skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint. 
  • Prior experience in Oracle is highly desirable.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $73,000.00 - $135,000.00. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $63,500.00 - $117,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
