Job description

Location: Remote within the United States
Experience: Minimum 5 years of recent SAP ABAP development experience
Job Type: Permanent / Full-time

Ideal Candidate Should Have
Strong hands-on experience with SAP ABAP development in SAP ECC 6.0
Recent coding experience with Dialogue Programming, ALV Reporting, SAP Forms, and SAP Script
Practical knowledge of IDOC Processing, RFCs, BAPIs, Function Modules, and Web Services
Working understanding of AR, AP, SD, FI, and MM modules

A software engineering mindset focused on development, implementation, and solution quality

Thinking Minds’ client is looking for a hands-on SAP ECC 6.0 ABAP Developer to support the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of business-critical SAP solutions. This role is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys coding, solving technical challenges, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable SAP applications.

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality SAP ABAP solutions within an ECC 6.0 environment. Key responsibilities include building and enhancing custom reports, interfaces, conversions, forms, and workflow-related objects while ensuring performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability. The role requires active development using Dialogue Programming, ALV Reporting, SAP Forms, SAP Script, IDOC Processing, RFCs, BAPIs, Function Modules, and Web Services.

The ideal candidate should have a strong technical foundation in SAP ECC 6.0 and recent experience supporting core business modules such as AR, AP, SD, FI, and MM. This position requires someone who can translate business and technical requirements into effective SAP development solutions while collaborating with functional teams, business stakeholders, QA teams, and other technology partners.

Candidates should be primarily software engineers or developers with a strong focus on hands-on technical implementation. This role is not intended for candidates whose recent experience has been primarily advisory, consulting, or analyst-focused without active coding responsibilities. Candidates with only S/4HANA experience and no recent SAP ECC development exposure may not be the best fit.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer who wants to contribute to meaningful enterprise technology initiatives while working in a collaborative and flexible remote environment.
