As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and relational needs, and developing targeted treatment plans that promote progress.
• Providing individual, couples, and family counseling using evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to suit the unique dynamics and concerns of each family system.
• Implementing effective strategies for enhancing communication and resolving conflicts, thereby improving relationship functioning and emotional health.
• Documenting client interactions meticulously, maintaining accurate treatment records, and ensuring confidentiality in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Responding to crisis situations promptly by offering immediate interventions that safeguard client welfare and address urgent emotional needs.
• Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, counselors, and medical professionals to create a holistic care approach that addresses the multifaceted aspects of client well-being.
• Engaging in continuous professional development through training sessions, workshops, and the latest research to enhance your therapeutic skills and knowledge in marriage and family therapy.

You will be supporting diverse clients primarily dealing with relational issues, emotional difficulties, and psychological stressors. Our client population includes individuals, couples, and families from various backgrounds who seek healing, support, and growth. You’ll be instrumental in fostering healthier relationships and enhancing emotional resilience within families, ultimately contributing to their overall well-being.

• Current licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Maryland.
• A Master’s degree or higher in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related mental health field.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a therapeutic role, particularly with outpatient services.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with clients and colleagues.
• Commitment to ethical practices and confidentiality in all client interactions.
• Ability to work autonomously while also thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to adapt your schedule to accommodate client needs, demonstrating flexibility.

• Experience in providing therapy within an outpatient setting is highly desirable, as it prepares you to manage the unique challenges of this client population.
• Familiarity with tools and methodologies utilized in marriage and family therapy, such as solution-focused brief therapy or cognitive-behavioral techniques.
• Experience utilizing teletherapy platforms to facilitate remote counseling sessions will be an asset.
