Job description

Specific Responsibilities of the Job: 

  • Responsible for full end to end process of Family Medicine providers assigned. 

    • Claim Coding and Submission
    • Rejected Claims
    • Denied Claims
  • Work closely with providers and staff to ensure timely billing processes. 
  • Work within the EMR system to ensure charge capture and sequencing. 
  • Reviewing and interpreting documentation. 
  • Billing and Coding according to payer and facility guidelines. 
  • Following up on needed coding edits. 
  • Working denied claims to ensure appeal deadline is not exceeded.
  • Working with billing team to ensure proper billing and coding processes. 
  • Ability to handle workload or daily productivity.  
  • Responsible for providing coding support to the Billing Team. 
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned. 

Skill Set: 

  • Two to Five years of experience in family practice facility (preferred)
  • Current certification CPC, AHIMA etc. (preferred) 
  • Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM 
  • Knowledge of E/M coding guidelines including outpatient, CCM, Annual Wellness etc. 
  • Knowledge in LCD, NCD and NCCI edits 
  • Extensive knowledge with different payer guidelines e.g., Medicare, HMO, PPO, Medicare Advantage Plans etc. 
  • EMR experience (eClinical preferred) 
  • Knowledge of medical practice revenue processes. 
  • Denial management and coding edit processes. 
  • Ability to analyze documentation and assign appropriate codes. 
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of attention to detail and reliable decision making. 
  • Strong analytical skills. 
  • High school diploma or GED 

Work setting: 

  • Office / On Site Lubbock, TX or Remote

Experience: 

  • Family Practice coding: 2 to 5 years (Preferred) 

License/Certification: 

  • Medical Coding Certification (Preferred) 

Job Type: Full-time 

Schedule: 

  • Monday to Friday

Pay: From $25 to $30 per hour
