Job Summary:
A Data Technician is responsible for registering raw scan data into usable point clouds for our modeling staff and clients. This team member assists the Mapping and Modeling team through active engagement with both field and clients through all the post processing stages.
Job Goals:
  • Receive 3D laser scanning raw data from field capture.
  • Register and process laser scanning point clouds into robust, dimensionally precise and easy to use data sets.
  • Technical development to problem solve and follow best practices in an evolving industry.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Use a variety of point cloud software to accurately register raw scan data into usable point clouds.
  • QA/QC point cloud registrations to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Align point clouds to specific coordinates or existing client models.
  • Work as part of a team and individually on projects
  • Actively engage with project managers and clients through all post processing stages of the project.
  • Responsible for on-time completion, quality, and client satisfaction on projects.
  • Consistently communicate internally and externally regarding project and client project status and expectations
  • Keep company ERP systems accurately updated with project information and status.
  • Research industry trends and competition to stay educated within the industry.
  • Maintain an up-to-date electronic schedule/calendar.

  • Holds a High School Diploma.
  • Ability to read blueprints and architectural drawings.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, comfortable with various software and tools.
  • Demonstrate a systematic approach to tasks and projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Keen eye for detail, ensuring precision in all tasks.
  • Passion for solving puzzles and tackling challenges, with a natural curiosity to learn and explore new concepts.
  • Possesses strong technical skills and an aptitude for understanding complex systems.
