Job description

Job Title: CAD Technician

Industry: Manufacturing

Location: Remote (US)

Shift: Standard 40 hours per week, remote. No travel required.

Interview Process: Phone screening, followed by a panel interview

This role sits within a global materials science and technology company's equipment and automation group, supporting drawing management and design documentation for manufacturing equipment across the facility.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and coordinate plant drawings for ownership and oversight of drawing management
  • Ensure project documentation, including drawings, spare parts, procedures, and schedules, is complete
  • Interface with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to design equipment for manufacturing
  • Partner with engineering and maintenance to troubleshoot equipment issues using technical drawings
  • Create and manage detailed drawing packages
  • Update manufacturing drawings as needed
  • Support daily operations, cost reduction, and improvement projects
  • Read and interpret technical drawings across disciplines

What We Need From You

  • 2 year technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering, CAD/CAM, or Manufacturing, or equivalent experience with a drafting certificate
  • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant field
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred / Bonus

  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, hands on experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM or similar drawing vault systems
