What does a remote 2D game designer do?

A Remote 2D Game Designer is responsible for creating the visual elements and gameplay concepts for video games, all while working from a remote location. They design characters, backgrounds, user interfaces, and other graphic assets in a two-dimensional format. Besides visual design, they also collaborate with programmers, writers, and other artists to ensure the game is engaging and cohesive. Communication is mainly carried out online, using collaboration tools to stay connected with the team throughout the development process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote 2D game designer?

To thrive as a Remote 2D Game Designer, you need a strong grasp of visual design principles, illustration, animation, and experience with industry-standard software like Adobe Creative Suite or Spine, typically supported by a relevant degree or portfolio.
