Job description

Position Overview

Brightside Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our telehealth team in a fully remote capacity. As a vital part of our mental health care delivery, you will engage with clients using evidence-based practices to provide compassionate and effective treatment from the comfort of their homes. Our innovative approach emphasizes flexibility, collaboration, and patient-centered care, ensuring our counselors can make a significant impact on the mental health outcomes of our clients.

About the Organization

At Brightside Health, our mission is to deliver high-quality mental health care that is science-backed and delivered with a personal touch. We utilize a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework that includes both live video sessions and self-guided lessons, allowing our clients to engage in their mental health journey actively. With our unique treatment programs, we are proud to report that 86% of our members experience improvements in their mental health within 12 weeks. We focus on creating individualized treatment pathways that enable our counselors to apply their knowledge and skills to foster lasting change.

Work Environment

This strictly remote position allows you to provide therapy from any location in Oregon City, Oregon, while enjoying a personalized and user-friendly electronic medical record system. Our telehealth model means you will work primarily through video consultations, enabling comfortable and private interactions with clients. You will be supported by advanced operational and billing teams who take care of administrative tasks, allowing you to concentrate on your passion – providing quality mental health care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver weekly evidence-based care through live video therapy sessions to a diverse adult population experiencing various emotional and psychological challenges.

  • Collaborate with Brightside’s psychiatric providers to facilitate comprehensive treatment, ensuring continuity of care and engaging in interdisciplinary team discussions.

  • Utilize symptom self-assessments and goal progress measures to dynamically monitor and adjust client treatment plans, ensuring that therapy remains aligned with their evolving needs.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using our intuitive counselor portal, which integrates seamlessly with assessment tools and treatment software.

  • Engage with the Therapy Leadership Team for ongoing support, consultation, and professional development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your client base will consist of adults navigating an array of emotional disorders, including anxiety, depression, and other mood-related challenges. This role allows for personalized, culturally responsive care that empowers clients to engage deeply with their mental health. Through our Crisis Care Program, launched with innovative CAMS training, you will also be equipped to handle cases with elevated suicide risk, providing critical and timely support to some of our most vulnerable clients.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in counseling or a related field is required.

  • Active and unrestricted Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential in Oregon is mandatory.

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a counseling role, with familiarity in telehealth practices preferred.

Preferred Experience

While not required, familiarity with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) methods and experience with online therapy platforms will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Specialized training or experience in suicide prevention and crisis management is highly valued, as is any additional therapeutic modality certification.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from USD 100,000 to 105,000 annually, accompanied by strong support systems and resources. Our counselors benefit from comprehensive malpractice and tail insurance coverage, ensuring peace of mind as they focus on their practice.

  • All counselors enjoy the flexibility of crafting their own schedules, making it easy to balance personal and professional commitments.

  • Positions are available either as 1099 independent contractor roles or W2 employment, with various options to choose from depending on state demand.

  • Our customized EMR provides advanced capabilities, including AI features that automate follow-ups and facilitate client check-ins, making the clinical workflow more efficient.

Career Growth Opportunities

Brightside Health places a strong emphasis on professional development. Counselors will have opportunities for ongoing training, including free monthly continuing education sessions that help enhance clinical skills and knowledge. Weekly consultations with leadership facilitate real-time support and growth, ensuring that you stay at the forefront of the mental health field.

Why Join Our Team

Joining Brightside means becoming part of a team that genuinely values both clients and counselors. You'll have a chance to make an unprecedented impact on the lives of your clients while working within an organizational culture that prioritizes flexibility, support, and innovation. Our success at improving client outcomes is a testament to our commitment to quality—84% of our members report feeling notably better within a short period. If you are eager to bring your expertise to a team that is making a difference in mental health care, we encourage you to apply.
