You will supervise banquet staff, including assistant managers and supervisors, ensuring seamless event execution, compliance with health and safety regulations, and profitability. The Banquet Manager plays a hands-on role in organizing and overseeing event room setups, service execution, and maintenance of banquet equipment, ensuring every event meets the highest standards of excellence and leaves a lasting impression on guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily banquet operations, ensuring efficient service and seamless event execution, from setup to tear down.
  • Lead, supervise, and train banquet staff, including assistant managers and supervisors, to ensure high performance and adherence to service standards.
  • Supervise event room setup, ensuring proper placement of linens, silverware, china, glassware, and other necessary items, while maintaining cleanliness and inventory.
  • Monitor event floor operations, ensuring all banquet staff and service stations are functioning properly throughout events.
  • Handle guest complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction during all events.
  • Manage banquet payroll and gratuity distribution, ensuring timely and accurate processing of staff hours and compensation.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team on menu planning and event-specific requirements, ensuring a diverse and appealing food and beverage selection.
  • Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as liquor laws and hotel SOPs.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings with service staff to review event details, timing, and expectations, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels for all events, adjusting schedules to meet hotel needs while controlling labor costs.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports, including banquet billing, post-event charges, and revenue reports to management.
  • Partner with the Sales and Catering departments to ensure smooth client hand-offs and coordinate event details from planning to execution.
  • Monitor inventory and oversee the ordering process, ensuring PAR levels are maintained and equipment is ready for use.
  • Develop and enforce banquet SOPs to increase operational efficiency and maintain service standards during events.
  • Ensure emergency procedures are known and followed by all banquet staff, including safety protocols and accident prevention measures.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Banquet Manager, preferably in a high-volume hotel or resort setting.
    • Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health and sanitation regulations, and local liquor laws.
    • Proven experience in managing budgets, payroll, and ensuring financial performance within banquet operations.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
    • Customer service-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest complaints professionally and efficiently.
    • Experience in training and developing staff, ensuring a high-performance team environment.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, to meet the needs of event operations.
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
    • Proficiency in using computer software related to banquet operations, including event management systems and Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to operate banquet equipment, including coffee machines, hot boxes, soda dispensers, Bain Maries, and beer taps.
    • Must be able to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 lbs when required.
