CONSTRUCTION ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

About the Position

Ready to fast-track your career in project management? We’re looking for an Assistant Project Manager to help execute complex upgrade projects and turnkey construction initiatives across large residential, commercial, and specialty projects. This individual will be a project manager in training, assisting with planning, budgeting, scheduling, contractor oversight, and cross-department execution from start to finish.

Position Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination & Execution
    • Support the Director of Construction and project leadership in managing the project lifecycle from kick-off through completion
    • Coordinate regular communication across departments such as Engineering, Virtual Design & Construction, Procurement, Prefabrication, Field Operations, and Safety
    • Track schedules, budgets, change orders, and overall project progress
    • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, material logistics, and deliverables
    • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including plans, scopes of work, RFI logs, meeting minutes, and status updates
  • Stakeholder Communication
    • Serve as a liaison between construction leadership, internal partners, general contractors, subcontractors, and external stakeholders
    • Participate in project meetings and communicate updates on milestones, risks, challenges, and required decisions
    • Ensure alignment with company standards, quality expectations, and construction processes
  • Risk Mitigation & Compliance
    • Monitor project risks, conflicts, schedule impacts, and resource challenges
    • Support field teams in maintaining compliance with safety requirements and best practices
    • Assist with quality control tracking, punch list management, field documentation, and turnover readiness
  • Financial & Administrative Support
    • Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, invoice validation, and financial reporting
    • Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, logs, and revisions
    • Support cost control and value-engineering efforts

Here’s What We’re Looking For

  • 1–4 years of construction experience as an assistant project manager, project coordinator, or similar role, preferably supporting a general contractor or large-scale projects
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, scheduling, and project management fundamentals
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or comparable platforms
  • Experience supporting $10M+ projects or complex upgrade work preferred
  • Exposure to multi-site or national project portfolios preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience preferred
