Your Impact

Fountain House is seeking a Project Manager to join its Facilities Department, supporting capital projects and day-to-day operational work across 15 program sites in New York City. This role will assist the Senior Director of Operations with ongoing and new initiatives and independently lead small to mid-size projects from planning through completion.

This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone with real project management experience in complex, multi-trade environments. This could be facilities, construction, or an adjacent field such as IT infrastructure, complex customer/vendor operations, or similar work involving coordination across multiple vendors, timelines, and stakeholders.

The Facilities Project Manager is a leader who not only delivers results but embodies the values of the clubhouse model, demonstrating what we call our HERO characteristics: fierce optimism, professional curiosity, and a deeply communitarian approach to partnerships, leadership, and engagement,

Full-time position based in Hell's Kitchen with travel to the Bronx and Harlem as well as residential sites across the city.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and contractors on assigned projects, escalating budget or scope changes to the Senior Director for approval
  • Maintain clear project documentation, status updates, punch lists, and closeout materials suited to grant-funded and audit-ready recordkeeping
  • Travel across Fountain House's NYC program sites as needed; this role is not desk-bound

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects in complex settings involving multiple trades, vendors, or service providers (facilities, construction, IT infrastructure, or complex vendor/customer service environments all qualify)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills under ambiguity - this work involves real-time issues like permit delays, discovered conditions, or vendor scheduling conflicts

Vendor & Trade Coordination

  • Experience directing contractors, vendors, or service providers to hold them accountable to timeline and quality
  • Ability to read and interpret scopes of work, proposals, and basic contract terms
  • Comfort coordinating across multiple trades or disciplines simultaneously, without requiring deep technical expertise in any single trade

Communication & Judgment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, self-starting approach and the ability to move projects forward
  • Discretion and good judgment, particularly given proximity to budget and staffing matters
  • Reports project status clearly and appropriately

Adaptability

  • Willingness and ability to learn Fountain House's mission, program model, and operating environment
  • Physical flexibility to work on-site across multiple locations as project needs require
