Job description

FACTS Engineering is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead multiple concurrent product development projects involving PLCs, industrial automation, and embedded electronic products.

This is not a software-only project management role. Our products combine hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing, and we're looking for someone who understands how to move a physical product from development through testing, production release, and launch.

You'll serve as the connection between engineering, PLM, operations, production, suppliers, and customers while keeping projects moving, risks visible, and teams aligned. The role combines traditional project management with Agile practices in an environment where hardware milestones, manufacturing schedules, and phase gates matter.

Location: Trinity / New Port Richey, Florida

Schedule: Full time, primarily on site with occasional remote flexibility

Relocation assistance available

What You'll Do

• Lead multiple concurrent hardware and embedded product development projects from planning through production release and launch

• Build and maintain integrated project plans across hardware, firmware, software, testing, PLM, and manufacturing

• Manage project scope, schedules, dependencies, risks, priorities, and change control

• Coordinate engineering changes, BOM releases, ECOs, documentation, testing, compliance, purchasing, quality, and production readiness

• Identify resource conflicts across projects and drive decisions and resolution

• Lead sprint planning, project reviews, customer timeline reviews, and retrospectives

• Maintain Azure DevOps Boards, queries, dashboards, and project reporting

• Serve as a direct project contact for OEM and private label customers

• Communicate project status, risks, and priorities clearly across engineering, management, operations, and customers

• Drive projects to completion through cross functional teams without relying on direct reporting authority

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, a related technical field, or equivalent hands on experience in hardware or embedded product development, Engineering Management, or Project Management

• Required: 5+ years managing technical projects involving hardware, firmware, and software

• Preferred: 8-10 years of technical project or program management experience in hardware, embedded systems, industrial automation, or related product development

• Experience taking a hardware product through production release and sustaining changes, not only the design phase

• Experience with PLM or ERP change control processes, including BOMs and engineering change orders

• Working proficiency with Azure DevOps Boards, queries, and dashboards

• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum with the ability to work in a hybrid Agile and phase gate development environment

• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams

• Experience working directly with external OEM or private label customers

• Demonstrated experience in industrial automation, embedded systems, or a closely related product development environment

Even Better If You Have

Experience with PLC or industrial controller product development, embedded systems, hardware testing, firmware workflows, UL or CE certification programs, industrial communication protocols, or tools such as Git, Jira, Azure DevOps Repos/Pipelines, Omnify, Arena, Windchill, or Teamcenter.

PMP, Scrum Master, or PMI ACP certification is a plus.

Why FACTS Engineering?

FACTS Engineering has been designing and manufacturing industrial automation equipment since 1987 and has served more than 100,000 customers worldwide alongside our close partner and distributor, AutomationDirect.com.

We're proud of our long term team member retention, with an average tenure of approximately 12 years, and our repeated recognition as one of Tampa Bay's Top Workplaces.

Our benefits include:

• Competitive salary

• Company paid family medical premiums with low maximum out of pocket costs

• 401(k) with 4% company match

• Monthly profit sharing bonuses

• Optional dental, vision, disability, and life insurance

• Flexible work hours

• Relocation assistance

• Professional development and certification support

If you're an experienced technical project manager who enjoys working closely with engineering teams and seeing real products move from development through production, we'd love to hear from you.
