Primary Care Physician (Family Medicine)

Prosperity Placement has been retained to identify a Staff Physician to join a mission-driven healthcare organization dedicated to providing high-quality, comprehensive care to diverse and medically underserved communities across Northern and Central Alabama.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician who seeks a rewarding work-life balance (no weekends or hospital rounds) while making a tangible impact on community health.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $200,000 โ€“ $245,000 (Based on experience)

  • Loan Repayment: Eligible for NHSC Loan Repayment Program

  • CME Support: 5 dedicated working days + $2,500 annual allowance

Position Overview:

The Staff Physician functions as a clinical leader within a multi-disciplinary team, providing primary, secondary, and tertiary care. This role focuses on preventive health plans and chronic disease management, ensuring that health maintenance is given equal priority to restorative care. You will play a pivotal role in planning and implementing service delivery according to corporate healthcare protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive Patient Care: Provide high-quality medical services to a diverse patient population, maintaining sensitivity to cultural backgrounds.

  • Clinical Leadership: Supervise clinical staff and delegate tasks while retaining responsibility for patient outcomes and quality of care.

  • Collaborative Practice: Function interdependently within a primary care team concept, participating in peer reviews and Quality Management committees.

  • Community Health Advocacy: Develop preventive health plans and provide health education/promotion within the center and the local community.

  • Health Informatics: Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records using an Electronic Patient System, ensuring all services are documented and coded within allotted timeframes.

  • Call Coverage: Participate in a light, phone-only call rotation (no physical weekend or holiday clinic hours).

Qualifications:

  • Education: MD or DO (or foreign degree equivalent) from an accredited school of medicine.

  • Residency: Successful completion of a residency program.

  • Certification: Board Certified in Family Medicine preferred; Board Eligible in Family Medicine required.

  • Licensure: Must hold (or be eligible for) an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Alabama.

  • Skills: Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) and knowledgeable in medical management principles.
