Position Location
This position is located onsite in Fallon, Nevada.
Job Overview
Responsible for performing all levels of maintenance and repair on the various types of Ground Support Equipment assigned to NAS Fallon.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
  • Performs organizational and intermediate levels of maintenance on end items of Support Equipment in accordance with OPNAV 4790.2 Series.
  • Must be familiar with aeronautical maintenance documentation programs including U.S. Navy NALCOMIS and F-35 ALIS. Must have experience with basic MS programs, along with knowledge of other U.S. Navy maintenance databases and programs.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Inspects and repairs as necessary all powered and non-powered equipment.
  • Maintains clean tools and a clean shop.
  • Assists in transport and relocation of support equipment as required.
  • Complies with all quality assurance programs such as tool control and FOD control.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Adherence to all safety rules and regulations.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Capable of passing a background check for CAC Card and/or drug test as required by the contract.
  • Must be able to become hydraulic certified and CDI qualified in all work centers.
  • Must have a current Nevada Driver's License.
  • Possess an OSHA 10 card or have the ability to get one within the first 90 days of employment
  • Must be able to obtain a 4790/102 Support Equipment License for various types and models of Ground Support Equipment located at NAS Fallon.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Must be able to comprehend, read, speak, and write fluently in the English language.
  • Must have recent verifiable experience in maintenance of gas turbine engines, AC/DC mobile generators, AC, high-pressure hydraulic systems, and gasoline and diesel engine repair.
  • Two years' recent verifiable support equipment experience preferred, with at least six months at the intermediate maintenance level.
  • Two years' experience in repairing and maintaining various types of powered and non-powered Aircraft Support Equipment in a military environment.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Capable of lifting and/or moving up to 70 lbs.
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
  • Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as needed.
  • Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm (cuts, bruises, burns, elevated noise levels, etc.
  • Work is typically performed on hard cement or asphalt surfaces.
