Job description

Ledcor Highways is now hiring skilled Truck and Coach Technicians/Heavy Duty Mechanics for our Highway Maintenance team for multiple Locations in Ontario.
In this position you will perform maintenance and repair of heavy construction and maintenance equipment such as plow and sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear used to keep the roads in your community safe.

We are currently hiring for the following shop locations:

  • Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
  • Wawa, Ontario

Rates & Premiums:

  • Journeyperson Mechanics will be paid a base rate of $46.75/hr

  • Mechanics receive a skilled trade premium of $15/hr in Wawa and White River

  • Relocation packages available

Work Conditions:

  • Monday to Friday work week 10-hour shifts

  • Shop based with travel to various field operations required

  • Employer Paid Benefits provided by CLAC including Health, Dental, and RSP plans


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repair of heavy construction and maintenance equipment such as plow and sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear

  • Follow manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures

  • Engage and participate in Ledcor safety policies and procedures

  • Complete maintenance records and documentation as required

Qualifications:

  • Must have a 310T Truck and Coach ticket from a recognized provincial authority, or a Red Seal On-Road ticket

  • Previous experience working with heavy civil construction and/or highway paving and highway maintenance equipment (i.e. snowplows) would be an asset

  • 421A Heavy Equipment Technician ticket is an asset

  • A valid Driver's License and ability to provide a 3-year driver's abstract

  • Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions which may be accompanied by sketches and diagrams

  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision

Compensation

$28.05 - $48.90 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
