Certified Nurse Assistant-Long Term Care
Reports to: Director of Nursing
Location: Heartland Care Center
POSITION SUMMARY:The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for a variety of tasks and services to assist in the provision of care and comfort for patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The CNA will report and record observations and contribute to the efficient functionality of the department.
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: 32-40 hours weekly, Shift: 6:00am to 2pm, every other weekend/holiday
Requirements
  • Required: Completion of accredited Nursing Assistant program
  • Required: Must be 16 years of age

License/Registration/Certification:
  • Required: Active Nursing Assistant certification within state of Iowa
  • Required: Must have or obtain active BLS within orientation period

Experience:
  • Preferred: Prior CNA experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer with a general understanding of application software, and an understanding of the Internet.
  • Ability to learn office and organization-specific software.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible patient schedules and frequent interruptions.
