Radar Systems Engineer โ€“ Advanced Products & Solutions (APS), Systems Engineering Center, RTX, ElSegundo, California

Location

ElSegundo, California.

Job Type

Onsite.

Security Clearance

U.S. citizenship required. DoD Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, including trade studies, development of CONOPS, system architecture, requirements definition and allocation, traceability, integration, verification, and qualification.
  • Support development, analysis, documentation, and verification of system requirements using DOORS.
  • Radar mode algorithm development and system performance assessments.
  • Conduct modeling, simulation, and data analysis using MATLAB, Python, and C++.
  • Perform daily tasks in a classified and controlled lab environment.
  • Participate in hardware / software integration, troubleshooting, and handsโ€‘on laboratory testing.
  • Support verification, validation, flight test, production, and postโ€‘deployment activities.
  • Perform trade studies, functional / physical analyses, and MBSEโ€‘based system design.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel up to 10%.
Required Qualifications
  • Typically requires a degree in a STEM discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Physics) and a minimum of 5years of prior relevant experience in Systems Engineering with radar algorithm design, requirements development, software / hardware integration, data analysis using MATLAB, and configuration management.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. governmentโ€‘issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Advanced degree in a STEM discipline.
  • Knowledge of radar fundamentals.
  • Programming experience in Python and MATLAB.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic or systemโ€‘level issues, signal processing, control theory, statistics, information theory, detection methods.
  • Imaging/pattern recognition expertise.
  • Data filtering (Kalman, batch, optimal estimation).
