Job description

Emergency Veterinarian (with Optional Senior Associate Track)

Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center - Kenosha, WI

Why You'll Love Working at WVRC Kenosha

At WVRC Racine/Kenosha, we're more than an emergency hospital-we're a tight-knit, people-first team committed to making a real difference for pets, their families, and the local veterinary community. Here's why veterinarians love being part of our crew:

  • People-First Culture: A collaborative, supportive team where your skills and compassion are valued every day.
  • Autonomy & Growth: Lead your shifts, make confident decisions, and build your own style of practice in a fast-paced, dynamic ER environment.
  • Perfect Location: Enjoy lakeside living with big city access-30 minutes to Milwaukee, 90 minutes to Chicago (or hop on Amtrak!).
  • Flexibility & Balance: Scheduling options designed for your lifestyle.
  • Earning Power: Competitive base + production, generous sign-on bonus, and no non-compete.
  • Room to Grow: From everyday ER excitement to advanced surgeries, you can shape a career that fits you.

The Role

As an Emergency Veterinarian at WVRC Kenosha, you will:

  • Manage a wide variety of small animal ER cases and make independent clinical decisions.
  • Have the opportunity to perform ER surgeries and expand your skillset.
  • Thrive in a high-impact environment where your expertise directly improves patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to a culture of compassionate, high-quality care that extends beyond the hospital walls.

We're looking for veterinarians who:

  • Are internship-trained or have at least 2 years of ER experience.
  • Feel comfortable managing high caseloads and working independently.
  • Bring positivity, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and mentoring colleagues when opportunities arise.

Senior Associate Track (Optional)

For experienced ER doctors seeking leadership and mentorship opportunities, our Senior Associate Track allows you to:

  • Lead the ER Immerse Training Program for new graduates.
  • Shape in-hospital CE and collaborate with Ethos Clinical Learning & Development.
  • Model best practices and guide complex cases on the floor.
  • Support hospital growth, recruiting efforts, and build relationships with local referring veterinarians.

What You'll Get & Where You'll Work

  • Competitive compensation (base + production) with high earning potential.
  • Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance-tailored packages available.
  • Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, generous PTO.
  • CE allowance, licensure & dues covered, mental health and well-being support.
  • Modern, 12,000sqft facility with in-house lab, CT scanner, digital radiology, and on-site radiology service.
  • A vibrant community near Lake Michigan with excellent housing, schools, and easy access to Milwaukee and Chicago.
  • Backed by Ethos Veterinary Health-national resources with a local heart.
